"I can easily divide my life into two parts—before her and after."
Hudson Pierce has led a life few others could even imagine. With money and power at his fingertips, he's wanted for almost nothing. He's never experienced love, however, and he's seen few examples of it in his dysfunctional family. The ridiculous notion of romance has always intrigued him. He's studied it, controlled it, manipulated it, and has yet to understand it.
Until he meets Alayna Withers.
Now, the games he's played in his quest for comprehension can finally come to an end. Or are they just beginning?
Told from his point of view, Hudson fills the holes in his love story with Alayna Withers. His past and relationship with his long-time friend Celia is further revealed and light is shed on his actions during his courtship with Alayna.
MUST BE READ AFTER THE FIXED TRILOGY.
Book One: FIXED ON YOU
Book Two: FOUND IN YOU
Book Three: FOREVER WITH YOU
Book Review: 5 stars
This is an amazingly written book. I loved it, then I hated it, and then i loved it again. It was a sway of feelings toward Hudson. When I read The Fixed Trilogy I fell in love with him, he is the kind of a bastard that I like. What Alayna’s POV shows is just a little bit of Hudson. She came to know him very well, she loved him over all things, with all her heart and soul, but Hudson is SO MUCH MORE from than what she told us in her books.
This book shows Hudson before and after Alayna, all his motives, all his inner battles, all his lack of feelings and most of all, everything what he thought and felt for the only woman he has ever loved. It was hard to read how much of an asshole he was, but then i read how amazing person he became after meeting Alayna, and all my fury over him faded.
This book was so much harder to read than the trilogy. I had to put on hold the third book and read something else because I couldn’t bear all the angst that was happening. But while I was reading this book, I forced myself to keep reading, no matter my feelings, my ache, my tears, because yes, I cried while reading it. The pain that Hudson went through was as big as his love for Alayna, or even bigger.
There is one character I love so much, Mirabelle, she was wonderful in the trilogy but in this book she exceeded any expectations I had of meeting her from his brother’s POV.
The end of the book is SPECTACULAR. I won’t give spoilers. The only thing I have to say is that the epilogue is just perfection. I fell in love with Hudson all over again.
