BOOK REVIEW: 5 STARS

This book was a big surprise for me. I read the synopsis before having received the advance audio book of Unteachable. My first thought was that I would probably like the book.  Little did I know, I ended up loving the book.  I devoured the book!  I read until 3 in the morning and now currently am suffering from a book hangover. The plot in this book was amazing, intriguing, romantic, sexy, and the end was just perfect.

The forbidden relationship in the story was the first thing that attracted to me about this book. A teacher and a student having an affair is something controversial, and I like controversial. The way they met, when they knew who they were and then when they decided to go on with the affair was fascinating, but their moments together, their conversations, their weekends together in Saint Louis, their little moments were what made their story something I will never forget.

Maise is an awesome girl. She’s rebel, fierce and gets what she wants. But she is also she’s a little girl who wants to be loved and not left behind. Of course, that part of her is hidden, only Evan was able to see it the first night they met. Their connection was instant, not only in the sexual way, but in emotional way. I think that was what made her feel drawn toward him.

Evan is def my new book boyfriend. I’m still thinking about him. He is so domineering and caring at the same time and in every way. He is always afraid of what would happen if their secret affair is discovered, not for what would happen to him, but what would happen to her. To her future. Despite of thinking what their relationship would do to her, he wasn’t able to get away from her. The necessity for one another is so big, that it felt almost an addiction.

Their moments together are full of love, of passion and most of all, understanding. I loved how much he understood her. I loved that he didn’t judge her, for her past, for her family and not even for her troubles. I was surprised with Evan’s reaction after the prom party.

I love love love Maise’s best friend, Wesley. Their friendship was refreshing. I had a theory about Maise and Wesley, but it didn’t come true. Wesley and his family was exactly what Maise needed to accept who she really is, to grow up, and most of all, to feel accepted and loved by a family.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: 4 STARS

I love Grace Grant’s voice. Her narrations are always amazing but her voice isn’t teenager-ish, so the book didn’t really sounded like told from the POV of a teenage girl in first person, but from a third person narration. Despite that fact, I thought the narration was great.
