BOOK REVIEW: 5 HUNDRED STARS

I was tweeting the other day with Tiffany and she said something so truthful: All the books of the Original Sinners Series are meant to be re-read. Now I know why she said it. This is the second time reading this book and if I loved it the first time I read it, now I adore it.

This book is just amazing. The best beginning for the series. You get to know a lot of characters and their stories, their pasts, their feelings. I admire that about Tiffany’s books. She writes complicated stories and characters, and everything is always connected. She writes the best plots, they are never boring. I remember that i devoured all the books, novels and novellas, of the series in 10 days. I was on vacation, so I was 24/7 for The Original Sinners. I wanted more and more and got addicted to everything about this story. This time, I took my time reading it. I repeated some parts finding the real meaning in their actions, Nora’s, Kingsley’s, Wesley’s and most of all, Søren’s.

Every excerpt of Nora’s writing were my favorite parts of The Siren. The memories she wrote about her and Søren were fantastique. And the book Nora was writing, the story about William and Caroline, was amazing, I’d love to read that book! I think it is more than the fictional-non-fictional story based on Wesley and her, but also a reflection of herself, of what she is, the kinky, and what she can’t ever be, the vanilla. After she finish the book, she realize what she has to do about Wesley, about Søren and most of all, about herself.

The Siren gave me my first BOOK GIRLFRIEND: Nora Sutherlin. She is amazing. She’s confident, strong, sexy as hell, funny, sarcastic, intelligent. I can go on and on with all the wonderful things that she is, but i’ll just say that SHE IS SIMPLY AWESOME.

Nora’s heart beat heavy in her chest. Søren’s love never ceased to humble her.

“I’m as flawed as it gets”

“You are human. And that is the better part of your beautify”…

There are so many characters very important for Nora in this book. Wesley, Zach and Søren. Even Kingsley had a very important role in this book. My perception of all of them changed so much since the first time I read this book, nine months ago.

Let’s start with my beloved Wesley. I think I will always be #TeamWesley. He is just wonderful. He is Nora’s intern, the house boy, the best friend. I love how they interact so easy with each other, their friendship is perfect. I like that he accepted her for who she was, even if he didn’t agree with what she did for a living, apart from writing of course. I like that he loved her with all his heart, despite their differences. But….

…“When Søren touched her she became his. When Wesley touched her, she became herself”…

Then there was Zachary, Nora’s editor. Their attraction was inevitable, and what happened between them was necessary for both of their sakes. I like Zachary, he made her a better writer, and she made him a better husband.

…”Zach was making her a real writer, which was the one fantasy Søren could never make come true for her”…

My thoughts of Kingsley are so different now than they were the first time I read this book. I totally dislike him, I even pictured him as an ugly man, despite his hot descripcion in the book. But he is the opposite of what I thought of him. He and Nora are the same, they are amazing. I didn’t like him the first time because I thought he was taking advantage of her, but now I understand that he was helping her. He helped her to be a better version of Eleanor.

…”Elle?” Nora turned around to face him. Kingsley had changed her name to Nora Sutherlin four years ago. If he ever called her Elle anymore, it was because he wanted her complete attention. He sat on top of his desk with his cocktail again. “I tease you but your books… You make us all proud, cherie. La communaute. Bonne chance avec la roman, ma belle dame sans merci.”

Good luck with the novel, my beautiful lady without mercy.

The last, but not the least of Nora’s men is Søren. He is everything to her. She fights with her feelings toward him along the book. She thinks she can love other men and forget about Søren, but she just can’t. I was in shock with the end of this book the first time I read it, because I hated Søren. He was over possessive with her and he “marked his territory”, i mean, W. T.  F. G., we are in the 21th century, why did he do that? and why did she let him do that?. Now I love him so much, with all my heart. I appreciated every conversation they had in this book, even though they all were full of so much tension. I love how intelligent he is. I love how he helps her, even to help another man. I love his love for her. It’s infinite. It’s perfect. It’s endless.

…”Slowly, she forced herself to look up at him and in a hollow voice she whispered, “I forgot my safe word.” Horror dawned in his eyes. Slowly, he knelt like he meant to pray. He reached for her and she shrank back instinctively in fear. he waited and did not move to touch her again. Finally, she pulled herself slowly up. He help open a towel and she stepped into it, leaning into his body as he wrapped it around her. Picking her up he carried her back to the bedroom. He sat in the armchair by the window and held her to him, rocking her in his strong arms while she cried.

He did not apologize and she did not expect him to.

She never forgot her safe word again.”…

I can’t wait to re-read The Angel, the second book of the series.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: 5 STARS

The narrator of this book is Aeron James, he has a hot british accent that kept me captivated along the audiobook. Even though the book is written in third person, it also from Nora and Zachary’s POV, and he made it very well for both of them. He didn’t do people’s voices, it was a neutral narration in that aspect, but he made the accents very very well. I loved Wes’s southern accent. I loved Grace’s welsh accent and most of all, I loved Kingsley’s french accent. I didn’t understand much of the last one, i had to read it while listening to it, but listening Kingsley speaking in french is a big turn on for me. His stiff british/american accent for Søren was perfect
