Scorned (From the Inside Out #1)

We shared a love that regulated every heartbeat and every breath we took. It was all encompassing. I thought our love could withstand time and anything thrown our way.

I was wrong. So wrong.

I used to be happy. I used to be Juliette Weston when Dylan Somers filled my life with promises of love and a happy ever after. But when he took my heart and broke it into a million pieces, I became someone else entirely. In one afternoon, I lost my soul mate. I lost everything I knew myself to be.

Three years later, the man who destroyed me is back.

To assuage his guilt? To finish the job? It doesn’t matter… I won’t let him this time. I’m stronger. I’ve moved on. He won’t affect me.

This is a story of love and betrayal. Pain and loss. Happiness and fate. It’s about finding your true destiny.

This is our story.

And it’s not for the faint of heart.

Jealousy (From the Inside Out #2)

PART 2 of the From the Inside Out serial by New York Times Bestselling Author, S. L. Scott. Part 3 and 4 of the serial are coming September 29th. Scorned - Part 1 is now available.

Dylan (From the Inside Out #3)

Scorned and Jealousy of the From the Inside Out series should be read before Austin or Dylan. Austin and Dylan: One woman. Two endings. You decide who you want to read or read both.

Dylan -

Four years ago, I was tempted with money, prestige, and power by a woman who offered to give me the world. That lifestyle came with a price. I had to leave the love of my life—the one person who had already given me everything I would ever need.

Today I watch Jules Weston in another man’s arms. Wanting… needing her back in my life again. But there are obstacles that keep us apart. Her boyfriend. Her best friend. Her anger that has raged inside her over the years.

Despite those, I’ve returned to take back what’s mine. The one thing I regret leaving behind—her heart.

I received this book for free from InkSlinger PR in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Review of the series

This is a great series. I liked it so much. It is very well written, the covers are super hot, the characters are well developed, even though I was a little annoyed with their hesitant actions throughout the book and I have a new book boyfriend!! When I was reading the first book I was team Austin, but in the middle of book two everything changed. Dylan won me over. He was the right man for Jules. Despite the bad choices he made in the past, he always has been the love of her life.

Book #1: Scorned 4 stars

I like this story, it isn’t the regular “boy meets girl, boy loves girl, HEA”. It has drama from moment one of the story. There are 3 guys in Jules’ life, the bad one, the good one and the better one.

The bad guy, Dylan, is the love of her life. But he took decisions that affected her more than him. He didn’t appreciate her or their relationship and he chose a different path away from her. And now he wants redemption. I don’t know if he wants her back, but at least he wants forgiveness.

The good guy, the best friend, Brandon, is the one who was there for her, unconditionally when she was broken hearted. Although he fell in love with her, she still loves (hates) Dylan. Big problem for both of them. he’d be good for her, but IMO he is a little annoying.

The better guy, Austin, is perfect for her. He is a very good looking and very wealthy client. Their attraction is evident and because of destiny, fate or coincidence, they end up having a date they both wanted for a while, but never had before. There is a saying: “things comes in the right time”, this is what happened to them. I don’t know his story, but at least for Jules, it wasn’t the best time for her, until now.

The story is great, the drama, the tension, are interesting, but I need more about Austin and Dylan. Austin rolls around easily with Jules while Dylan can’t even form a word. It is frustrating. Let’s see what the next book brings for Jules and all her men.

Book #2: Jealousy 4 stars

In the second book of the series Jules is happy with her relationship with Austin. He is good for her, he takes care of her, he loves her deeply but….. Dylan is still around. He doesn’t give up, he keeps trying to fix things with Jules.

I like the drama in this book, how Jules and Dylan’s encounters are filled with the love they still have for each other, but also the hate, the regret and most of all the sadness, all the consequences for their actions in the past and in the present.

I also like the easiness in the relationship of Austin and Jules. I’m a erotica sucker, so I miss the sex in this story, but their moments are romantic and beautiful, so I am cool what that. But for some reason, maybe I am crazy, but I root Dylan/Jules. They are soulmates. I know, Dylan broke her heart and for the most selfish reason of all, but they still love each other.

There is one thing I love about this series and it is that it has two endings. I decided to stick with my stupid masochistic heart and I’ll go for Dylan. Let’s see what she decides in that book. Maybe, just out of curiosity I’ll read Austin’s book.

Book #3: Dylan 5 stars

I am so Team Dylan!!! I love their HEA!!! It wasn’t easy for them, but easy isn’t the best for a real relationship. I feel bad for Austin, but real love is what happens between Jules and Dylan. They are meant for each other and this was the perfect ending for this series.

I love the part of Brandon in this book. He def is an amazing friend, and despite his need to be judgmental toward this whole situation, he was supportive with Jules, even with Dylan. He even had his happy ending too, I was glad to find out about that.

This book has an element I appreciate so much in love stories, because I always want more. It was great.

I wonder how Austin’s book is, but I decided not to read it, I am so happy with this ending that I will keep it in my heart as it is.
