True love may mean certain death in a ghostly affair of risk and passion from New York Times bestselling duo Christina Lauren, authors ofBeautiful Bastard. Tahereh Mafi, New York Times bestselling author ofShatter Me calls Sublime “a beautiful, haunting read".
When Lucy walks out of a frozen forest, wearing only a silk dress and sandals, she isn’t sure how she got there. But when she sees Colin, she knows for sure that she’s here for him.
Colin has never been captivated by a girl the way he is by Lucy. With each passing day their lives intertwine, and even as Lucy begins to remember more of her life—and her death—neither of them is willing to give up what they have, no matter how impossible it is. And when Colin finds a way to physically be with Lucy, taking himself to the brink of death where his reality and Lucy’s overlap, the joy of being together for those brief stolen moments drowns out everything in the outside world. But some lines weren’t meant to be crossed…

BOOK REVIEW: 4.5 STARS
I know Christina Lauren from the Beautiful Bastard Series and the Wild Season Series, both series from the romance and very very erotic genres. So, when I heard about their new book Sublime being in the paranormal genre I was surprised and so curious about it. I love paranormal, specially in TV shows and Movies, so I decided to read this book, and listen to the audiobook of course. I have to say: AMAZING AND VERY ORIGINAL STORY! It is very well written, not surprised about that, because Christina and Lauren style of writing is amazing, and they did great with this book.
The plot was stunning, Lucy and Colin’s love story was captivating, heartbreaking and very beautiful. It was an impossible love, but reading how much they craved to touch and kiss each other, to be with the other, made me fall in love with their story. The twist of events had my heart aching for them half of the book, expecting the worst for both of them, but specially for Colin. Their love was those addictive kind of loves that made them do anything and everything for the other person. This addictive love was beautiful but also very reckless, however, a true kind of love.
Lucy was a very beautiful character. Her reactions to the world when she arrived to this world, when she saw Colin for the first time, and to their first kiss were so perfect, unlike a teenager girl, unlike a ghost, but at the same time so genuine and believable.
Colin on the other hand was a young boy, very rebel, he didn’t fear anything and only wanted to feel the rush of risking his life. I guess that falling in love with a ghost was inevitable for him, what is more risky than hang out with a ghost? I loved how he described all the sensations while touching and kissing Lucy, but when he was thinking about his feelings toward her, it was the most beautiful in this book.
All their adventures together, only the two of them and then with Jay, were awesome. I was half scared-to.death and half excited, they were really crazy. It’s incredible how one can believe everything when one is so young and have nothing to lose, because this was really what was happening here, Colin had nothing to lose and so much to win by being with Lucy.
The romantic moments in this book were so good. I couldn’t choose between Lucy’s or Colin’s POV romantic moments, they all were very well described, their feelings were first, how loved they felt from the other and how much they were able to give to the other. I have to be honest, I was expecting some steamy moments, because this is a CL’s book, but this isn’t romance or new adult, this is young adult, so it has to be written for younger readers.
This was a great book. Cheers to Christina Lauren for their first paranormal book!
AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: 4 STARS
Elizabeth Louise and Cal Wembly did an amazing job with this audiobook. Cal’s voice was beautiful, calm, smooth, very fitting for Colin. His female voices were good. I loved every chapter with his voice, I love when a narrator makes me feel what the character is feeling, and Cal totally did it for me. At first I felt like his voice wasn’t for Colin, due to his deep voice, I felt like he was more like an external person than being Colin, but then it hit me. Cal was Colin, when he was having teenager troubles, when he was missing Lucy, or being reckless, and most of all, when he was with Lucy, thinking about how much he wanted to touch her, how much he wanted to kiss her, and then doing it, so carefully with her ghosty-skin, Cal was all Colin. Elizabeth has a beautiful voice, perfect for a teenager. Her voice is a little shy and small, and very very sweet. I also like her voice for male characters, she could make different tones for Colin and Jay, which is very impressive. Great audiobook.
