BOOK REVIEW: 5 MILLION STARS

“Vive le roi” Søren said. Long live the king.

The King is completely awesome. This is the sixth book of the series and it is all about Kingsley. Not a surprise with the name, right? But yeah, it is all about Kingsley, and I loved it from beginning to end.

Getting to know Kingsley was the best, not only because he is so french and handsome and super kinky, but also because he is so broken. I shed a lot of tears while reading this book. With Kingsley’s thoughts, with Søren’s words and most of all, because of how much Kingsley had to realize and change to come back to life.

I learned a lot of Kingsley and Søren’s story in the book The Prince. I fell in love with Kingsley in that book. And reading The King showed me all his desperate, obsessive, broken and unhealthy love for Søren and made me love him even more. And I could love Søren from Kingsley’s POV.

Kingsley’s love for Søren was that kind of love that doesn’t ever end, not after so many years, or how many wounds he has in his body, and not after having half of Europe in his bed. Kingsley’s love for Søren simply never ends.

I couldn’t help but to compare Nora’s and Kingsley’s love for Søren. Not only because they, Nora and Kingsley, are so alike, in so many ways, but only because Søren loves them both so much. I’ve always thought that Nora loved Søren with all her heart and soul and that kind of love couldn’t be overpassed. Not anymore. Kingsley’s love is bigger, more obsessive. His love is enslaving and liberating at the same time. No matter what or whom King was doing, he was always thinking about Søren. Every single time. Always Søren. Unhealthy, yes, I agree with Tiffany, but not so much because…. I won’t tell, but it made him do the best thing in the world, to their world anyway.

I loved a lot of things about this book, one of my favorite ones is the fact that it has everything, explains every symbol, every line, every aspect of the life of the sinners. It was amazing to read the origin of the famous line “Have you ever had sex in the back of a Rolls Royce?” and a lot of other details.

The secondary characters are also great in this book. Sam was my favorite of all. I liked her in The Saint and now I love her. Everything she did for King was a token of her love for him. Maybe not as lovers but as brother and sister. It was also great to read how the sinners knew a lot of characters who we met in the previous novels and novellas of the series. I was always saying “Ohhhhh this is that person, or I remember this other one from that book”. I really admire Tiffany’s ability to write such complex stories and doesn’t miss one single detail of what happened before.

I really loved this book, I knew I would. Now I need The Virgin.
