From the New York Times bestselling author of Beautiful Bastard, Beautiful Stranger, and Beautiful Player, Book Two of the brand-new Wild Seasons series that started with Sweet Filthy Boy—a story of friends, love, and lust.
Despite their rowdy hookups, Harlow and Finn don’t even like each other...which would explain why their marriage lasted only twelve hours. He needs to be in charge and takes whatever he wants. She lives by the Want-something-done? Do-it-yourself mantra. Maybe she’s too similar to the rugged fisherman—or just what he needs.
BOOK REVIEW: 5 Dirty Rowdy Stars!!
Every once in awhile, there’s an author and/or authors that come along and make you fall in love with every word they write. Their writing completely consumes your world. They leave you craving for more of their brilliance. They make you drop everything when one of their books is released. Christina Lauren is that author for me!
Finn and Harlow have these misconceptions about each other. Finn thinks Harlow is a “girly girl” that only cares about the next pair of shoes she’s going to buy and Harlow thinks Finn has his life made with his family fishing business and is an A**hole with a capital A. They both couldn’t be FARTHER from the truth. We learn that Harlow is the “life of the party”, can be a bit loud, a dedicate friend, a “fixer”, and a family person through and through. Then we learn that Finn is considered “contained/closed off” and quiet, a dependable friend, and loyal to his family to no end. What’s that saying, opposites attract? They have characteristics that are similar, but yet their personalities are different. Can they “complement” each other and make a relationship work?
They both have a secret that is tearing their personal worlds apart…can they come together to save each other? Or are they just using each other for distractions? “What I want with Finn is the sex that absorbs me and shuts off my brain.” (Harlow). They both have something they want to forget in their lives, but they can’t….the only thing that seems to help to make them forget is getting lost in each other.
I loved that we got dual POV’s in DRT. That way us readers got to see “behind the scenes” and learn firsthand what drives these two characters to do the things they do. “We will either end up fighting or f*cking, and Finn does neither with any sort of tenderness.” The sex scenes were DEFINITELY DIRTY & ROWDY! “You want me just a little rough?” he asks, hands shaking where he cups my face. “Or you want me f*cking wild?”(Finn) “Wild. (Harlow). “Finnegan” as Harlow calls him once in awhile, certainly has a little kink in his repertoire…let’s just saw fishing for a living sure has taught him how to handle a rope 😉 “I want to be messy, rough, a little dirty, a little taboo. I want to claim Harlow everywhere, try anything she wants, and see the mark of rope and teeth and my spankings on her skin.” (Finn)
Everything about this book was AMAZEBALLS! It had it’s sweet moments, it had it’s sad moments, and it had it’s LOL moments! I loved being able to see more of Finn and Harlow, Ansel and Mia, Oliver and Lola again and meeting some new characters! CANNOT WAIT for Oliver and Lola’s story!
