Looking for the perfect mix of smart, sexy, and sassy? Mai Tai’d Up continues New York Times bestselling author Alice Clayton’s Cocktail series, which began with Wallbanger and continued with Rusty Nailed and Screwdrivered.
The gossip mill in the seaside community of Monterey is churning about Chloe Patterson, the newcomer who is starting a sanctuary for rescued pit bulls. It’s rumored that she’s a former beauty queen (true) who ditched her fiancé the morning of their wedding (also true). And that while she’s not looking for a new man, the good-looking local veterinarian has his eye on her. Absolutely, positively true.
When Lucas Campbell isn’t at the family veterinary clinic, he’s paddle boarding in Monterey Bay. Recently single, he’s definitely not in the market for a new relationship, but he still can’t resist taking a second, third, and fourth look at the recent arrival of Miss Golden State.
Neither Lucas nor Chloe has any interest in being tied down. Being tied up, however—now there’s a thought. But are a few Mai Tais, a moonlit night, and the music of Frank Sinatra enough to allow them both to forget their past? Let’s hope Ol’ Blue Eyes knows what he’s doing.
Mix one part tiki, one part kinky, and a splash of old black magic matchmaking, and it’s time to be . . . Mai Tai’d Up.

BOOK REVIEW: 5 STARS
Alice Clayton’s books are always awesome! Funny, sexy and very entertaining! Mai Tai’d Up had it all. I loved the little part of Chloe in Screwdrivered, she was a good girl, about to get married, but with very cold feet. I was really curious about her and ready to read her book. And now, after reading Mai Tai’d Up, I can tell that my curiosity was very well rewarded. Chloe is an amazing girl, very smart, very kind, with a beautiful heart, and with the sharpest sense of humor.
I loved that this book was all about Chloe, about finding her place in the world, about doing what she wanted and not what her mother wanted (FFS I couldn’t stand her mother) and most of all, about finding the love she wanted in her life.
So, after she called off the wedding, she decided to go to Monterey to clear her head, and start over, and it turned out to be the best decision she’s ever made in her life. Monterey meant new friends, new job (her dream job), new dogs (the cutest pitbulls) and new love. But that love wasn’t always love. At first, it was a really great friendship with a lot of sexual tension. Oh. My. God. The. Tension. It was hilarious and sexy! And then when they did it, it was so hot, so awesome, i couldn’t put the book down, because it was reaaaally steamy. Very Alice-Clayton-steamy-kinda-way.
Lucas was her kryptonite. Very ginger, very muscular, very funny and very romantic. I loved their conversations, their adventures, how they worked together and their nicknames. Oh, did I say kryptonite? Yes, a blue kryptonite, I mean, she was so attracted to his perfect blue eyes, that I decided that he was her blue kryptonite.
The secondary characters were awesome. Her dad was my favorite. So supportive and always so loving. Lou and Marge were funny and they gave the best advices to Chloe. Viv and Clark did their part in this book too. It was awesome to know more about their HEA. *happy dance*. And her mom, she was so annoying most of the book, but at the end I liked her. She finally understood what was best for her daughter, was what Chloe decided for herself.
And….. I learned with this book that Alice is a fan of superman. She had some superman references in Screwdrivered and in this book, and I totally loved it!!
I can’t wait for the new book of the series, Last Call. Caroline and Simon are back! Yeah baby, bring me my wallbanger!!
