Looking for the perfect mix of smart, sexy, and sassy? Mai Tai’d Up continues New York Times bestselling author Alice Clayton’s Cocktail series, which began with Wallbanger and continued with Rusty Nailed and Screwdrivered.

The gossip mill in the seaside community of Monterey is churning about Chloe Patterson, the newcomer who is starting a sanctuary for rescued pit bulls. It’s rumored that she’s a former beauty queen (true) who ditched her fiancé the morning of their wedding (also true). And that while she’s not looking for a new man, the good-looking local veterinarian has his eye on her. Absolutely, positively true.

When Lucas Campbell isn’t at the family veterinary clinic, he’s paddle boarding in Monterey Bay. Recently single, he’s definitely not in the market for a new relationship, but he still can’t resist taking a second, third, and fourth look at the recent arrival of Miss Golden State.

Neither Lucas nor Chloe has any interest in being tied down. Being tied up, however—now there’s a thought. But are a few Mai Tais, a moonlit night, and the music of Frank Sinatra enough to allow them both to forget their past? Let’s hope Ol’ Blue Eyes knows what he’s doing.

Mix one part tiki, one part kinky, and a splash of old black magic matchmaking, and it’s time to be . . . Mai Tai’d Up.

ANGY’S AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: 5+++ STARS

The audiobook of Mai Tai’d Up made this book five times better. Heather Smith did an amazing job in the narration of Chloe and Lucas’s love story. I definitely loved listening the audiobook after reading the book for the first time. It gave me another chance to fall in love with Lucas, and to repeat the book, which I love doing, but I don’t have much time to do that lately. So, I’m doubly happy.

Heather’s voice was just perfect for this book. It fits perfectly with Chloe’s personality: Lovely, caring, playful, funny and sexy.

Header made it flawless when Chloe was having her panic attack the day of the wedding. I could totally hear the desperation and the anguish in her voice.

And Oh. My. God. Heather’s tone of voice was awesome when Chloe was thinking about her KRYP-TO-NITE Lucas, I was daydreaming along with her *sigh*.

And of course, when Chloe and Lucas made love for the first time, it was steamy-hot! It was intense, and sexy and… yeah, you know what I mean *giggles*. Heather’s sexy narration made it even better than when I read it the first time.

I also loved the inflection in Heather’s voice for Lucas. I was melting when he was talking to Chloe the day she had to fetch her first dog, Sammy Davis Jr. Lucas was so straightforward about what could happen with the dogs, the bad things, but also the amazing things she could enjoy with this new experience. What an amazing man he is. Can I have my own ginger kryptonite for myself please?

Amazing book! Alice did great with this spin off. In addition to this audiobook review, you can also read my book review here.
