When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.
Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success—his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family—Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.
Erotic, amusing, and deeply moving, the Fifty Shades Trilogy is a tale that will obsess you, possess you, and stay with you forever.
This book is intended for mature audiences.
The premier of Fifty Shades of Grey was a week ago, and after a long wait, all of us, as fans of the trilogy, can say that WE ARE 100% SATISFIED with the adaptation.
We prepared for the movie with the #Readalong. It was really fun to read every chapter and try to find the scenes from the trailers and “guess” to what part of the book it belonged. Here are some of the collages we made for the readalong:

VIVIAN’S REVIEW
I bought my ticket for this movie THE DAY they went on sale…I was that AMPED! Just like any avid reader, I was elated to hear that one of my favorite series was going to be on the big screen! So of course I HAD to see it. FSOG was my very first “mommy porn” (as my hubby likes to call it) that I read and it forever changed my world and caught me: hook, line, and sinker.
I went into the movie theater with an open mind because let’s be real here, firstly, no movie is as good as the books…it’s just not possible in my mind and secondly, these characters are NOT easy to play…especially Christian. But that being said, MIND BLOWN…LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF THIS MOVIE!
Jamie Dornan did an ASTOUNDING job capturing Christian. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but especially that last scene where he is showing Ana how “bad” it can get…you can physically see all of the emotions going through his facial expressions as he’s spanking Ana. He is so torn. The viewers can see little changes in Christian as the movie goes on and Jamie captures those changes perfectly. Jamie portrays Christian to a T!
Dakota Johnson…WHOA…SHE ROCKED MY WORLD! I thought she NAILED the part as Ana! She brought this whole sassy and funny side to Ana that I didn’t quite remember reading in the books. (ex: the contract meeting 😉 You’ll know what I’m talking about when you see it) It was obvious that her buoyant and charismatic sides were pulling the best out in Christian. Plain and simple, Dakota was AMAZAEBALLS as Ana!
And there was their chemistry….just phenomenal!! And the red room scenes…SCORCHING!
“It’s just beyond this door? -Christian
“What is?”-Anna
“My playroom?-Christian
“Like your xbox and stuff?”-Anna
As a huge fan of the series and having read it several times, I did catch myself knit-picking it though and being a little critical of the overall movie…I’m only human of course! LOL! But with that being said, Universal stuck to the book nearly perfect and I for one CAN NOT WAIT for movie 2 and 3!!!
Laters, baby;)

CLAUDIA’S REVIEW
As a huge fan of the book, I must say that the movie didn’t disappoint me, I went to the movie with excitement and highly expectations.
I really knew from the beginning that the film would honor our precious story and I wasn’t wrong, and I think Sam and the staff had a really hard job trying to make a film adaptation from such popular and loving book. The final product was amazing, I know there are missing parts but the important ones are there. I don’t know much about technical things from a movie but it was well done, love the script and visually was perfect and classy.
About the performance of the actors, Dakota was a nice surprise for me, she was the perfect Ana and she develops her character so well. By the other hand, Jamie Dornan is my perfect choice for Christian and he absolutely nail it. He was Christian Grey with all of his 50 shades, serious, rude, kind, funny, sexy and fucked up. He’s the hell of an actor and he knew exactly how to develop Grey’s character. Of course Dakota’s performance is outstanding because the book it’s mostly about her. You can taste the chemistry between Jamie and Dakota the second they met as Christian and Ana.
The secondary characters were amazing, maybe we didn’t see more about them but it was enough.
The film is truth to the book, the sex scenes were perfectly made, they were classy and with very good taste. Sam has done an amazing job and gave fifty shades fans a perfect movie for a perfect book. I can’t wait for Fifty Shades Darker.

ANGY’S REVIEW
WHY DID I GIVE 10 STARS TO FIFTY SHADES OF GREY MOVIE IN IMDB?
There is only one obvious answer to that question: BECAUSE I LOVED IT!! It was what I imagined it would be. I have to be honest, I was afraid that the adaptation wasn’t going to be a good one, because of the HUGE expectation Universal created around the film, there are so many films that show all the good parts in the trailer and the movie is so bad, but that wasn’t the case of Fifty Shades of Grey.
I love movies that are based on books, Harry Potter, Twilight, Divergent, The Fault of Our Stars are some of those. They all are good adaptations, with some changes from the books, but great adaptations anyway. That’s what gives more credit to Fifty Shades, because they took the best and more important parts of the book, and made an amazing movie. They omitted some parts, but for me, they could be left out without affecting the core of the story. They also made little changes (2 or 3 if i’m not mistaken), but they improved the story and the characters. Also, as a good adaptation, it encourages the audience that hasn’t read the book to buy it and read it after they leave the cinema, and not only the first book, but the other two as well, because the cliffhanger from the movie is as shocking as the book.
I have to congratulate Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson and Sam Taylor-Johnson for their outstanding work in the movie. Sam’s direction was amazing. The music arrangements, the decoration, the custom design, everything was very truth to the book. The performances of Jamie and Dakota were PERFECT! For me, they are Christian and Anastasia 100%. Jamie was intense, sexy and very serious when he had to be, but he was also very charming and he made that little smile of Christian, that made me fall in love with him – Christian and Jamie, of course – harder and deeper. Dakota – Girl Crush Alert – was so natural playing Anastasia, her shyness, her sweetness, and her toughness were just the perfect representation of Ana. The film showed every defiance of Ana over Christian, and how this was slowly knocking down all the walls Christian had to protect himself.
It’s hard for me to chose my favorite moment of the movie, because there are so many amazing moments, like: The first time they made love, or when they flew in the Charlie Tango and the glider, or when he said: “I don’t make love, I fuck… hard” – SO CHRISTIAN HERE –, or when he says: “I’m fifty shades of fucked-up”, or in the Red Room of Pain. Everything was perfect. Especially the sex scenes, they were erotic, beautiful and very classy, not to mention that Dakota and Jamie’s bodies are stunning, especially Jamie’s shoulders *fans self*.
Oh, i forgot to say that I’ve watched the movie 5 times, and I’m planning on watching it more times!! I just can’t get enough of this movie!!

I wish I could watch this movie! I’ve always loved Erotica as a genre, and this would be the first Erotica movie I’d ever actually wanted to watch! But I can’t, due to where I live.
Hopefully I will when I can. 😀
