Dimpled smile of a boy

Hard body of a man

Sings like an angel

Fucks like the devil

I was stuck between a rock(star) and a hard place.

At fifteen, his poster hung on my bedroom wall.  At twenty-five his body hovered over mine.  Every girl’s fantasy became my reality.  I was dating a rockstar.  Yet I was slowly falling for another man.  The problem was—the two men—they shared a tour bus.

Flynn Beckham was the opening act.

Dylan Ryder was the headliner.

What happens when the opening act begins to shine so bright, it seems to dim everything else in its wake?

I’ll tell you what happens.  Things get ugly.

I received this book for free from TRSOR promotions in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I remember when I first saw Beat’s cover: It was love at first sight! I loved the model, the design, the colors, everything, and of course, I started following Nicolas Simoes everywhere because… HELLO!!?? HE IS GORGEOUS! And guess what? He first perfectly for Flynn! I was in love with him when I finished the third chapter of the book, because, indeed, he’s extremely HOT on the outside, but on the inside, Flynn is marvelous. The way he was feeling about Lucky, how much he cherished his niece and sister & how much he loved music… Everything about him was perfect! *sigh* I’m just so in love with Flynn, and again, bordering to obsession *wink*.

I’m so happy for reading this book. I’ve supported Vi Keeland in the blog and I always thought the covers were awesome and the synopsis were pretty interesting, and now that I’ve read Beat, I confirm that she’s an amazing writer. Her style is fresh, smooth and easy going. The plot is well paced and the characters development is perfect. The dual POV was perfect to know very well both main characters, and also their friends and family. One of the things I loved the most about this book was the descriptions. Just see it by yourself:

He looks like a rock god on the stage.  Perfectly magnificent in the spotlight as he sits on a stool with a guitar resting on his lap.  It’s impossible to tear your eyes away.  The crowd stands in silent worship as he looks down and leisurely strums the intro.  Then slowly, from the darkness behind him, the drums start to roll…at first low, then louder and louder.  Until we can feel the vibration in our chest.  Flynn stops playing for a moment, the spotlight dims, the arena goes dark again, and when the lights come back on, the full band starts playing.  Right before he begins to sing, Flynn closes his eyes for a moment and then finally looks up and smiles to the audience. That lazy, slow-spreading, dimple-bearing, completely titillating smile.  And the place goes mad.

This excerpt from Beat made me feel I was in a concert, watching him perform. It made me fall more and more in love with Flynn. *double sigh*

Lucky was amazing. She was strong and confident, funny and sexy. *Book girlfriend alert* But she needed a “little” push and she wasn’t going get it with that boyfriend of hers. I felt all the time like her friend Avery and her dislike for Dylan. Ugh! What a douchebag.

Do I need to tell you more? Perfect cover. Perfect story. Perfect book boyfriend. 100% Recommended.
