Robert Dade is a man who knows what he wants and never hesitates to go after it. Money, power, and—at long last—the woman he loves, Kasie Fitzgerald, are now his. But after so many years of living by his own rules will he really make the compromises necessary to keep Kasie by his side? And when a man even richer and more ruthless than he is takes an interest in Kasie, will Dade be able to protect her? Or will his controlling nature drive her toward the very danger he seeks to shield her from?

Recommendation: I would suggest reading this book BEFORE you read Just One Lie. You’ll understand why if you do *wink*

I LOVED that Just Once More was in Robert’s POV. We get to see the internal war that is waging. He is battling with trying to be a “better” man. A man that can compromise. A man that isn’t as ruthless as he used to be. This is clearly not an easy thing for him because he has learned to live his life with a certain amount of control, control of himself and control of others. (Bonus- we finally find out how old he is! LOL). “My name is Robert Dade. I am a self-made man.” –Robert. We get to see how he has grown and is STILL growing as a man in this relationship with Kasie. ,i>“This is my first experience with love.” –Robert. He is learning that love, especially with this woman, is more important than control.

I think he’s raelizing that he’s not really an earthly God after all. He has always aspired to make fear his “lover”. Once he conquered fear, he was unstoppable. But in the end, fear is inevitable…everyone has SOMETHING to fear. Now that Robert has Kasie, his biggest fear is losing her. You have to accept the fear of its loss…“the fear of losing Kasie is with me constantly. It’s the kind of fear that spurs a man to action.”–Robert. So in lies the internal battle…he fears loss now. Can he master that fear or will fear conquer him?

This was a perfect short novella to give us fans of this series more of Kasie and Robert and it was also the perfect set up for the next book, Just One Lie! Talk about a cliffy! I can’t wait to delve into Just One Lie…I want to know where this story is going to go!
