Dark desires…Deadly secrets…Devious deceptions…Nothing is exactly as it seems in INSIDIOUS, the new erotic thriller from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Aleatha Romig.

When a powerful man is willing to risk everything for his own satisfaction, only one woman can beat him at his own game: his wife. Or so she thinks…

“Let’s start with you calling me Stewart. Formalities seem unnecessary.”

Stewart Harrington is rich, gorgeous, and one of the most powerful men in Miami. He always gets what he wants. Anything is available to him for the right price.

Even me.

Being the wife of a mogul comes with all the perks, but being Mrs. Stewart Harrington comes with a few special requirements. I’ve learned to keep a part of myself locked away as my husband watches me submit to his needs. But the more he demands of me, the more beguiled he becomes and that’s to my advantage. So I keep fulfilling his fantasies and following his rules because he doesn’t know that what he’s playing is really my game. And winning is everything, right?

Insidious is a stand-alone novel and the first Tales from the Dark Side title. Due to the dark and explicit nature of this book, it is recommended for mature audiences only.

BOOK AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: 5 STARS

Oh. My. God. How to start with this review? Because my emotions are all over the place, this book was exhausting in every possible way, don’t get me wrong, I loved it, but I was on the edge all the time. I couldn’t trust anyone, every event from the past and the present were shocking, full of surprises and not at all predictable, and not to mention this book was disturbing for me, GOD! I hated almost all the characters, except Victoria of course, at some point of the story, but there were two particular male characters that I had a vibe about them, a hunch, so I couldn’t help not to love/hate them.

OK, Insidious is about one woman, Victoria, who is married to a very rich man, multimillionaire and powerful man, Stewart, but he is very sick, has terminal cancer and she is about to inherit all his fortune, but… For an “arm candy” like Victoria is very usual to be underestimated, and that’s what her husband, his bodyguard, his lawyer and all his friend do about her, they all undervalue her and they don’t even come to imagine what she is capable of.

This story written in a very clever way, because when you start reading it, you totally hate Stewart, and as the story is going, you starts questioning your hatred toward him. Also, the development of the characters is so amazing, you literally see a guilt sign in all of them, and you start yelling at the book: VICTORIA OPEN YOUR DAMN EYES! UGH! And by the end of the book, the most unexpected happens and you just stare at the book (for me it was stare at the horizon, because I was listening to the audiobook) and blink and you are utterly and totally speechless.

This book is amazing, the storyline, the suspense, the sex scenes, the characters. Everything was great, and the companion of the audiobook was just perfect. The performance of Savannah Richards was astounding. I loved all her interpretations, male and female, the emotions, anger, desperation, fear, hatred, everything was very well transmitted in her narration. The audiobook is a necessary addition to this book. 100% recommended.
