"We met in a nightmare. The in-between world where time had no power over reason. We fell in love. We fell hard. But then we woke up. And it was over . . ."

RUIN & RULE

She is a woman divided. Her past, present, and future are as twisted as the lies she's lived for the past eight years. Desperate to get the truth, she must turn to the one man who may also be her greatest enemy . . .

He is the president of Pure Corruption MC. A heartless biker and retribution-deliverer. He accepts no rules, obeys no one, and lives only to reap revenge on those who wronged him. And now he has stolen her, body and soul.

Can a woman plagued by mystery fall in love with the man who refuses to face the truth? And can a man drenched in darkness forgo his quest for vengeance-and finally find redemption?

"Ruin & Rule is a full-length book at 436 pages and ends on a cliffhanger. Cleo and Kill's story continues in SIN & SUFFER."

Ruin and Rule starts off with a girl, let’s call her “Forgetful girl” (I am not going to say her name bc I don’t want to give any spoilers), waking up blindfolded, tied and in pain…kidnapped. She has no memory to speak of. She doesn’t know where she is, WHO she is, NOTHING. Her mind is locked to her, “a fortress withholding everything I wished to know.”  The only thing that seems to spark any recognition for her is his voice: the earthquake rumble of a voice coming from a man she can’t see from behind her blindfold. As soon as the blindfold is removed, the only focal point in her life is him. Something in her mind tells her she knows him on some deeper level and she see’s that recognition spark in him as well. “Recognition flickered, love smoldered, and a heartbreaking sorrow only those who have loved and lost can know etched his eyes.” She knows that he is the key to unlocking her past, but he denies knowing her. He denies the obvious connection they have. He denies the familiarity of her…the resemblance of the loved one he thought he lost 8 yrs ago.

Come to find out the voice that she seems to recognize belongs to Arthur “Kill” Killian, who is the president of the motorcycle club called Pure Corruption. “My name is Arthur Killian, but you and everyone else, address me as Kill.” He is there ruthless ruler that brought the group up from ruins. They were once known as “The Corrupts”, but he singlehandedly created this new group that is now governed by the motto “PURE IN THOUGHTS AND VENGEANCE. CORRUPT IN ALL THINGS THAT MATTER.” He has one plan, one goal that he has set in motion and is close to completing: Revenge. Revenge to those who did him wrong; those who he trusted unconditionally and took everything from him. Those who killed the only girl he loved…his Sagittarius.  But now in the midst of all the strategic planning, he has this forgetful girl, who claims to be her, to have her memories. But she can’t be…if she is, then all his meticulous planning would be for not. As more and more of the forgetful girls memories get unlocked over the time she is around Kill, doubt sets in. Kill begins to doubt what really happened all those years ago.

Forgetful girl is determined on breaking through the “wall” in her brain and figuring out who she is and why she has these dead girls memories, but in the process she digs up much more truths than she can possibly handle. Are some things worth digging up or are they better left hidden away to never be seen or thought about again? There’s a war wagging and in the middle of it all, these two have to figure out if they are truly long lost loves brought back together and their stories are more intertwined than they thought or is it just a coincidence a girl with similar features and memories to the one that died, shows up right before the war begins? Maybe, maybe not…

This was my very first Pepper Winters novel and I. Couldn’t. Put. It. DOWN! I kept telling myself, “Just finish the chapter and then you can clean the house.” “Just one more chapter and you can go to bed.” “Just one more chapter and…oh forget it, I’m just going to stay up all night and finish the book!”  Well I did finish and I WANT MORE! I need it to be January 2016 now! Crazy as it may seem, I believe this book is the reason woman have fantasies about getting kidnapped and falling in love with their sexy and broken captor (YES this is a thing! Google it!)

This book is like walking through a dense fog…you keep reading hoping to come to a clearing at the end. We get to experience all the confusion and turmoil that the main female character goes through with her complete memory loss. Each chapter is like walking through that fog a little more only to realize that there is another obstacle to get through and still so many more layers and aspects we don’t know. The unveiling of her memories is written perfectly and with each unlocked memory we are realizing more and more why her mind locked her out…to protect her from her tragic and horrific past. Each memory reveals just how deeply intertwined she is in the MC world she woke up to in the beginning. There is a war going on around her and she is smack dab in the middle of it. Coincidence?

“War is coming. War is imminent. It would happen between Pure Corruption and Dagger Rose. And it would happen because of me.”

The characters are brilliantly developed and multifaceted. There is so much depth and mystery with EACH one that it leaves you craving to know more about them with each page. But just like her memories, each page leaves you questioning what you’ve learned about those characters and makes you wonder their involvement in everything.

The plot is unique and like nothing else I’ve read. I am beginning to realize why readers love Pepper Winters. She creates a completely believable and realistic world. That world sucked me in and when I was done, I looked up from the book in a state of haze and confusion and had to blink several times in order to remember where I was. *lol*

Plain and simple, this book CONSUMED my life. It was a page turner and no matter what I did, I HAD to get to the end of the book. It was packed full of mystery, angst, eroticism, vengeance and love. I am typically not a MC reader, but man am I SO HAPPY I picked this book up!

“If life was a tapestry, already threaded and steadfast, then he was the scissors that cut me free. He tore me out, stole me away, changed the whole prophecy of who I was meant to be.”
