There are three things you need to know about Ashley Winston: 1) She has six brothers and they all have beards, 2) She is a reader, and 3) She knows how to knit.

Former beauty queen, Ashley Winston’s preferred coping strategy is escapism. She escaped her Tennessee small town, loathsome father, and six brothers eight years ago. Now she escapes life daily via her Amazon kindle one-click addiction. However, when a family tragedy forces her to return home, Ashley can’t escape the notice of Drew Runous— local Game Warden, reclusive mountain man, bear wrestler, philosopher, and everyone’s favorite guy. Drew’s irksome philosophizing in particular makes Ashley want to run for the skyscrapers, especially since he can’t seem to keep his exasperating opinions— or his soulful poetry, steadfast support, and delightful hands— to himself. Pretty soon the girl who wanted nothing more than the escape of the big city finds she’s lost her heart in small town Tennessee.

This is a full-length novel, can be read as a standalone, and is the fourth book in the 'Knitting in the City' series

review v2

I LOVE THIS BOOK, TO THE MOON AND BACK!

For starters, even tho Beauty and the Mustache is book 4 in the Knitting in the City Series (which i haven’t read yet) but is also like book 1 in the Winston Brothers Series and that is what brought me here. So i had planned to read Truth or Beard for some time now and in order to meet Winston Brother is necessary to read this one first. Well NOT literally because each book in the Winston Brothers Series is a standalone but yet is the biggest connection. ANYWAYS JUST STOP EVERYTHING YOU’RE DOING AND READ THIS.

OH MY LORD. So basically i fell more in love with beards that is for sure. Honestly this is the first book that the only thing separating the heroine from being me, is the name. Ashley and I are a same soul. And one thing i love most about being a bookworm is when we can see ourselves in fictional characters and they become not so fictional anymore. Ashley is the only girl in a family of 7 children. 6 brothers in total. I don’t have 6 just 4 but still i could relate to everything that was Ashley. I understood her need to find a place where she could feel that she could just be. I understand her need to run away from so much testosterone. But even tho the family bond is still unbreakable.
After being 8 years away from her home in Tennessee Ashley is needed back to her hometown because of a family tragedy. Once Ashley gets home she is 8 years outdated with her family. Basically her 7 bearded handsome brothers are nothing like the last time she saw them 8 years ago so she discovers a beautiful side of her family even tho of the tragedy they are about to face. And then LOVE hits Ashley in the face with the gorgeous mountain of a man DREW.

DREW RUNOUS. MOTHER FUCK. I DIE. I LOVE HIM.

”I’m glad you know my heart, because you are my heart.” ME. DEAD.

The writing is like a charming spark, funny, sexy yet emotional and beautiful. The family bonding was the most adorable thing i have ever read and the romance SWEET JESUS. I literally melted reading it. AND I CRIED. This book is absolutely EPIC. Beards are fun, sexy and gorgeous. I love this book so much that i cannot even find the right words, Penny Reid is definitely making it to the top list of my fave authors. I felt like i was looking in a mirror through this heroine and that made the experience so unbelievably real for me. I truly recommend Penny Reid books to everyone, only reading one book so far i can tell she is definitely a flawless author. IM IN LOVE.

5.ABSOLUTELY EPIC STARS!
