I have one rule: Don’t shit where you eat.

Several of the women in the condo complex I own would love some one-on-one playtime, and why wouldn’t they? I’m young, fit, attractive, and loaded. Not to mention I’m packing a sizable bulge below the belt. It’s a combination that drops panties on a regular basis.

Yay, me, right?

But my cock, troublemaker that he is, has been confined to my trousers by my business partner. A concession I agreed to, and one that’s never been hard to enforce until Emery moves in across the hall. She’s smart, young, determined, and sexy as hell. I want a taste. I won’t stop until I’m buried deep inside the succulent new-in-town brunette.

After being warned about my past, she does her best to steer clear, but I’m about to show her that underneath it all, I’m a guy with a heart of gold and a cock of steel.

My name is Hayden Oliver, and this is my story.

SCREWED is standalone romantic comedy by New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author Kendall Ryan.

Book Review: 4 Stars

Hayden Oliver is a well established real estate investor that has a playboy rumor around him, a rumor that is 100% complete truth and he isn’t afraid to admit it. Emery Winters has just moved to Los Angeles to have her internship at this big lawyer firm in town while getting her own law degree. She just happened to move in the very same building where Hayden lives and owns with his partner Hudson. Hudson makes it very clear to Hayden that he can’t sleep with this new girl, they had their share of complaints from angry tenants after Hayden got them in bed and just walked away the next day.

But this becomes a challenge to Hayden and he is determined to prove his friend and everyone else wrong about their assumptions . He can surely get to know a girl and just be her friend, without rolling between sheets together.

There is noticeable sexual tension and desire from both Hayden’s and Emery’s side. So how will this “friendship zone” turn out to be? Will they be able to be just friends? Or will their body’s betray them before they realize it themselves? Is there love luring behind the corner for our “friends to be”? Read this feel good book and find out 😉

What caught my interest for this book is all the sassy and cocky teasers about our lover boy Hayden. I couldn’t help myself and compared him to Jake Becker from Sustained by Emma Chase. I really looked forward to see that he was about and to get into his head and understand his comments.

I liked this book because it was based on main characters ignoring their primal needs and trying to be a better person and someone to count on. And of course I am a sucker for DPOV 🙂 Love to read a story from both sides and understand the development better. I was very pleased to see that there was much more to Hayden’s personality than his good looks and great skills in bed….It was warming to see he had a good heart hidden behind pain from his past.

The only thing this book could have had was a better and more prolonging epilogue with a deeper story that showed us what happened to Hayden and Emery. This one felt a bit flat and almost unnecessary.
