Every choice you make in life comes with a consequence, which dictates the outcome of your future.

I was once on top, I was living the life I dreamt of, I had everything I could possibly hope for. I was happy, satisfied, content…until one night.

One off day.

One moment in time I wish I could take back. My biggest regret.

The once bright future I possessed vanished and in its place a dark world of self-hatred and loathing encompassed me.

People like to celebrate the day they were born, I like to celebrate the day my soul died.

This is my story of repentance.

BOOK REVIEW: 4 STARS

Like the title of the book already says, “Repentance – the story of Kace Haywood” is about ex-pro-fighter Kace. He once has been one of the best fighters of his league, until he has been tricked. False accusations about doping had him give up his pro-career and leave the competition he had been about to win. Out of frustration, he had tried to swallow his anger with a bottle of whiskey. And in that drunken state, he made a mistake, that didn’t only change his own life completely… He then lives in a dark hole and lets no one and nothing get close to him. Until Lyla comes along.

The book was good, more the story of how Kace got out of his misery and started living again than a romance, but a cute love-story nonetheless. The sex-scenes were hot and Kace did the grunting in caveman-style a lot. Every reader who loves the dark and broody, tortured hero – grab this book!

On the downside, everything in regard of the romance went a little too sudden for my taste. But it’s ok, because it was mostly Kace’s story of his repentance for his sins and faults and how he grew and learned to pick up the pieces.

All in all, I rate “Repentance” with 4 stars and can recommend it to everyone who loves romance with a lot of backup-story and a very tortured hero.
