Special Operator Lucas Shipley thought his living arrangement was temporary, since getting booted from the house by his wife. He sleeps on a couch in the apartment with four other divorced Navy SEALs, thinking he’ll get the call to come home any day. He ignores the not-so-helpful advice his buddies are giving him about marriage, women and romance. Until he gets served with divorce papers.

Realtor Marcy Gelland is hired by Lucas’ soon-to-be ex-wife to liquidate all their real estate holdings and help her orchestrate a speedy departure from Lucas’ life. Based on what the hot-headed SEAL wife has told her, Marcy understands Lucas deserves every ounce of pain coming his way.

But when Marcy and Lucas are left alone together in the remote Northern California woods, they ignite a personal bonfire that threatens to burn down the whole forest. Marcy is forced to see she is wrong about Lucas.

Amidst the backdrop of hardened bachelor SEALs with their unsolicited, anti-long-term relationship advice, and a terrorist training camp operating nearby, Lucas must do what he’s always done: be the hero and save the day. But will it be in time to save Marcy?

Book Review: 3,5 stars

About the book:

Lucas has been kicked out of the house by his wife Connie after returning home from a mission. She is accusing him of all kinds of betrayal and is committed to divorce him ASAP and sell all of their property and rip him off as much as possible. While Lucas is crashing at his friends and team members and still thinking and hoping that Connie will turn around and change her mind. All that hits him hard when Marcy the realtor hired by Connie serves him with information about divorce and selling the houses. But something else unexpected happens as well….Marcy and Lucas caught each other eyes at first meeting and there is a spark there waiting to be light up to fire.

They fall right into it and have a passion that both have craved for a long time. Just when they are about to go forward with their relationship Lucas gets called in for a emergency mission that is to be kept secret from everyone except the team. Some terrorist groups from Iraq are on U.S soil and their primary mission is to haunt down team of SEALs that brought down their leader.

What is next for Lucas and his family? Now they are all in danger and he have to pick his battles and choose who to protect first. Will Marcy still be there waiting for him? Or will she be long gone together with his second chance of happiness?

My review:

Seriously who can resist a story about SEALs? Well NOT me :) This was an interesting book with a deeper plot and a bit hard to melt if you ask me. It’s not only boy meets girl, they fall in love and live happily ever after.

Reality hits hard here and show us how important some things and someone’s job are for us all. These guys devote their life to protect others and they deserve all the respect and honor out there. They do what is needed and at any point without expecting anything in return from us common people. I loved the core of this story.

The hot passion is helping its case as well :) Hot hot hot XXX is ongoing with Lucas and Marcy that makes your knees weak. And then we have love and protection that is bigger than anything else. He is trying his best to protect Marcy and that makes him just a better person and way hotter lover.

Some things in the second half of the book had my stomach turning and I felt bad and it was hard to read but then again reality is what it is. Overall book was an easy read with a good story behind it. I liked it and could read more of these SEALs. The only thing I saw as negative that last chapter or two felt rushed. Almost like the author lacked pages to write on….I could have been given more space and thought.
