Before I read this book I was not familiar with the author, the sexy cover and great blurb intrigued me so I decided to asked for it.
Sadly I struggled to finish it, the plot was very interesting and intriguing but the development of the story wasn’t good enough to hook me up.
Cara Michal had a rough life, after her father died she had to look after her mom and brother. She’s trying to make a career on Wall Street, so work is everything for her and there is no way she will risk everything she has accomplished until she met Braden.
Cara met Branden Duke on a party and the chemistry was instantly and she immediately was drawn to him, without knowing he just bought the company she works for and that he is her new boss. As both of them can’t resist to be apart from each other, they decided to give it a try. But things get complicated when she started to receive threats and now Braden has to find out who is this person that want to hurt them.
At the beginning, the story was promising, it had suspense and intrigue but then there was too much information that wasn’t necessary that makes look like the author wanted to do it longer, and at the end when we finally knew what was going on, things started to go too fast and it was hard for me to keep up.
Cara couldn’t make up her mind, she wanted him but she was not supposed to, I hate her for doing that to Braden. She was supposed to be independant but she didn’t even know what she wanted, aghhhh. Braden on the other hand, was a great alpha male, so intense and dominant. Just how I love my book boyfriends.
I recommend you to read it to judge for yourself. maybe this book just wasn’t for me.
