A sexy category romance from Entangled's Brazen imprint...
She's a challenge he can't afford to lose...
Navy SEAL Steven Thomas has only ever been able to count on three things: waking up in the morning, going to sleep sometime during the night, and Lauren Brixton. She's been his best friend since grade school, and what they have is the only relationship he's managed not to ruin.
Until one drunken night puts that all in jeopardy.
Lauren's watched Steven flit from one-night stand to one-night stand, seemingly not interested in something more. So when the long-ignored attraction between the two of them blows up in their faces, she does the only thing she can-she pretends she doesn't want him. But all's fair in love and war, and Steven's not about to lose the only person in his life who matters...

Hello! I’m Diane Alberts (though I also write as Jen McLaughlin) and I just had a new book come out on December 7th! It’s called SAY YOU’RE MINE, and it’s the fifth book in the Shillings Agency series with Entangled Publishing’s Brazen line! The fifth book in the series revolves around Steven and Lauren.
We got to meet Steven in the fourth book, since he’s the best friend of the hero in the fourth book…and the brother of the heroine. So we already know he’s a former Navy SEAL, came home damaged from war, and doesn’t think he’s capable of love. What we haven’t seen yet, is how he is with the heroine of this newest book…
His other best friend, Lauren.
They met when they were children, and he gave her his only pencil in class so she wouldn’t get in trouble. Lauren has had her own share of heartbreak and pain, and she’s not the most open person when it comes to feelings and relationships.
Put these two together, and you’ve got one hell of a story.
One of the most challenging things about writing a friends to lovers story is you have to give a good reason why these two friends go from platonic to I MUST HAVE YOU NOW in the span of a book. I feel I pulled this off with Lauren and Steven, but it got me to thinking…
How many real life readers out there have fallen for the trope? Have you ever had a crazy night with a best friend? If so, did it ruin the relationship, or did you find your own happily ever after?
