Thia is prim and proper.
Bear is leather and lawless.
It will never work between them.
It's a lie they almost believe...

It is necessary to first read King and Tyrant to fully enjoy Lawless.

Book Review: 4,5 stars

“Lawless” is the story of Bear and Thia. We already know Bear from “King” and “Tyrant” – “Lawless” is his and his book alone, as is Thia… But can a bond, which is made out of a promise meant to never be kept, really grow into something life-altering? And even more so, if the whole world obviously is against said bond? Fight or flight…???

Bear was one of my favorite people in “King”. Honestly, I liked King’s story, but I couldn’t get myself to read “Tyrant”. I had so many issues with this certain book and I was afraid of what the author would make out of King and Doe’s story, which I just refused to read it. To then read “Lawless” was kind of a gamble, because it could have very well been the case, that I didn’t have enough background knowledge to understand Bear’s book. But kudos to T. M. Frazier, she made it possible for me to understand “Lawless”, even after not knowing what went down in “Tyrant”. And to make that clear, I think it was amazing, that in Bear’s story, and almost all issues I had with “King” were as good as non-existed. Yes, I was pleasantly surprised! I hoped it would be that way and she didn’t disappoint. The writing was excellent, very believable and you could visualize even the most of unrealistic scenarios.

It’s best to start the book blindly and always expect the unexpected. That was my lesson learned whilst reading “Lawless”. I’ll just say about the book itself as much: I loved the MC’s, the writing was great, the story kept me captivated and the erotic- as well as the angst-factor were moderately, IMO. It definitely had a dark side to it, but nothing too dramatic.

The only thing, that didn’t sit right with me, was the ending. Yes, it was a cliffhanger AGAIN. I guess it is necessary for all the loose endings to be solved in the sequel, but I was not aware, this was a series yet again and would end unresolved. That was in fact my only issue this time, but I have to let it flow into my rating after all and have to cut a half point for it…

All in all, I rate “Lawless” with 4,5 stars and can recommend it to everyone who liked the first two books in the series, “King” and “Tyrant”.
