When Emily Wayborn goes home to visit her mom while on hiatus from her hit TV show, she receives a voicemail from her former best friend, Amber. Though the two were once notorious party girls, they haven't spoken in years. Although the message might sound benign to anyone else, Amber uses a safe word that Emily recognizes, a word they always used to get out of sticky situations during their wild days. And what's more chilling than the voicemail: it turns out that Amber has gone missing.

Determined to track down her friend, Emily follows a chain of clues that lead her to the enigmatic billionaire Reeve Sallis, a hotelier known for his shady dealings and play boy reputation. Now, in order to find Amber, Emily must seduce Reeve to learn his secrets and discover the whereabouts of her friend. But as she finds herself more entangled with him, she finds she's drawn to Reeve for more than just his connection to Amber, despite her growing fear that he may be the enemy. When she's forced to choose where her loyalty lies, how will she decide between saving Amber and saving her heart?

Jenn’s Book Review: 5+++ stars

About the book:

Emily receives a message from her former best friend with their secret code for danger. She hasn’t seen her friend Amber for years so the call bothers her and she can’t let it go and goes on a hunt for her once dear friend. All leads are going to one person and that is the one and only Reeve Sallis. A man whom many respects and fear, but that doesn’t stops Emily for digging even further. Her one and only goal is to come as close to him as possible and do whatever is needed in order to find Amber and help her out of the danger.

But all is not as simple as planned. Reeve is not a man who gets fooled by anyone and has control of everything and everyone around him. Emily starts to wonder if she is leading a mission that it’s doomed to fail. Or is she herself falling for the man she thinks is responsible for Amber’s missing.

My review:

HOLY. MOTHER.OF.GOD!!!!!
WHAT.THE.HELL.JUST.HAPPENED?

This cliff got me so confused that I was doubting what have I just read?!?!?! I was expecting something big to happen, but nothing like THIS. This is a great example of mind fuck. GAAAAAH. I need book 2 like yesterday.

OK now that I have that out of my system, back to the review like we know it. This book will captivate you from the very start I promise you that much. It keeps you on the edge all and I mean ALL the time. You know something is going to happen, you know there are answers to all the questions, you know secrets will be revealed and you just keep on waiting and waiting for all this to go down.

But don’t you worry, while you are waiting for all that, you have an amazing eye candy (picture it yourselves) that is this work of art called Reeve Sallis. Damn that man is so hot, so mysterious, so intriguing, so in control that it makes you want to be Emily :) I was feeling like I was on fire and the only solution would be to jump in the cold ocean and drown myself HAHAHA.

Emily knows what she wants, what she likes, how to get it and she is not afraid of using every trick in the book to make it all go her way. A strong and now independent woman with even stronger desires.

I loved how these two characters melted perfectly together. For every chapter you realize how well they are for one another and how it feels like they were made to be together. Story line is more than interesting never getting bored, the chemistry between Reeve and Emily is so strong and hot you can almost touch it through your kindle.

This books has it all: Intrigue, danger, sexual tension, passion, control, romance, love and devotion is appearing as you go in deeper and deeper into the book. Writing is flawless and Laurelin Paige did it once again. She has created a master piece with this one! I loved Hudson, JC, even Chandler and now I am completely lost in Reeve :)

So now I have 6 months of suffering that this wait means for me. I wish I could just forget about it until the book 2 comes out and then remember it like I have just read it.

I recommend this book 100 % but if you hate cliffs maybe you should wait for both books to be out.

Ralou’s Book Review: 5+++++(…) stars!!

Well, that’s what happens when you have a long time to read a specific author that has already proved that can sweep you off your feet and “kill” you with her stories easily. So, when you get to read another book of her, then you getting more “killed”. And that’s what happened to me with Laurelin Paige’s First Touch. It totally  K I L L E D me!! Mercifully so. And just like Jen said above:

HOLY. MOTHER. OF. GOD!! WHAT. JUST. HAPPENED??

I couldn’t agreed more with her! Honestly, this is the only way that First Touch can be described accuretly! Because even though is a masterpiece with every sense and aspect of the word, it doesn’t do it justice since it’s more more than that! I really don’t know how to say what this book made me feel because I have forgotten how to write, think and generally breathe!

From the very first moment that I read the blurb I knew that this book was going to be the something else. But now that I have finished it, I can say with 20000% clarity that I was caught off guard. It definitely surpassed all my expectations by far far far. Laurelin Paige proved once again what a great great author she really is.

Reeve and Emily’s story is simply outstanding, stunning, awesome, amazing. Whatever word I choose is 100 times more. And not because of the evolution of their feelings for each other but what is happening while that happens. And the same goes for the two too. Reeve and Emily are two incredibly intriguing characters. And when they are put together, they create something so great that its limit is over this galaxy! Also, there isn’t one moment in it, that you can predict even the slightest detail. I was in a constant state of breathtaking surprise. There were many times that I didn’t know what side was up. And as the story progressed and I was getting deeper in it, I saw clearly that the only thing that I had to do to survive it, was to just go with the flow Laurelin set. And I was more than rewarded in the end!

It was a kiss that took – took my desire, took my passion, took my will.

And, since a Greek girl, I can’t bypassed the fact that there was that big of a greek element in it. No matter that it was in Mafia reference! Also, the fun thing about it was that when there were greek “dialogues” without actually being solid dialogues and part of the book, I could imagine in greek what could possibly said. It was really surreal! :p And made Reeve even hotter than he already was! If that’s even possible because this guy can easily be put as an example or the actual definition of HOTNESS in the dictionary. Independently the language.

I belonged to him the way a good idea belonged to the person who thought it.

As, for the cliffhanger in the end and the twist that was done,  I have only one thing to say: WHYYYYYY? WHY DID YOU DO THAT LAURELIN?. And I’m not saying that because of the actual cliff, but because the second books comes out in J U N E! How we are supposed to wait until then without losing a part of our heart to see what happens next and how is going to end? IF it’s ending in the second book!
