Book Review: 5+ Assassins stars!
I have to say that I’m feeling thouroughly story-satisfied right now. Everything inside my body have reached the absolute level of satisfaction. And how could they not when they come face-to-face with the incredible book that’s called Between Shadows?
Although, this is my first interraction with Chanel Cleeton, I can say for sure that she just became one of my favorites and most-anticipatied authors. I was completely blown away from her writing and there wasn’t a moment where I doubted her.
Between Shadows is a story full of suspense, agony, love, betrayal and hate. And about Assassins. Two in particular: Luke and X. X is a nineteen-year-old girl, who along with her sister, has spent the last five years or so of her life in the Academy who made her the best at what she is now: an assassin. Having lost everyone that she loved, her sole purpose is to protect her sister by doing what they taught her: to kill. But soon she’s going to discover that everything she believed and considered a fact, it’s a well-covered and organised lie.
“My success depends on my ability to blend into the shadows. I am the best. I am a ghost.”
And here comes Luke. Luke is the other best asset of Academy. He and X has created a deep connection between them and very powerful feelings. But, soon, he was forced to leave Academy for a long period of time, letting X believing something that wasn’t true. But, now, he’s back and ready to fight for what it’s right and true.
Their re-meeting is intense and is leaving behind confussion, shock, anger, memories and many many mixed feelings. But all these get even more difficult for X to handle when her next assignement is with Luke. Although, this assignement will go somewhere and bring secrets to the surface that neither had ever predicted.

Reading, not only this couple, but also this story was definitely a life-changing experience for me. Everything about it is inspiring and eye-opening in its whole intensity. It’s a book that is one of the best great-written ones I have ever read and it’s definitely one that falls, undoubtedly, under the tag #MustRead. It contains so many different elements in it but so great-combined, which makes it even more irresistible than already is. It’s also one of those stories who requires from you to shut down every part of your organism but your heart, because this is all you need. Between Shadows is all about strong emotions and just going with the flow. Everything else is simply moot and useless. Which makes the waiting for the next book of Assassins an even harder task for me……. I honestly CAN’T WAIT!!!
