If you have read the Belonging Duet and The Consolation Duet then you’ll know Mark Dixon, and of course if you have read both of my reviews then you’ll know how obsessed i am with Mark.
First things first; Mark Dixon had me since book one and my love just kept growing all through The Consolation Duet. I craved this book so hard it was all i could think about. So being able to get an early copy was truly a blessed way to start 2016.
I adore Mark fiercely. I love him with all parts of my being. He’s everything. Most of the time i just wanted to rub myself against him, he made me so happy it was kind of annoying. He’s truly a sunshine. Both Jackson and Liam will always hold a special place in my heart but in all honesty i’ve been Team Twilight (Mark’s nickname) since the beginning. As i said before i’m obsessed. I cannot love Mark enough.
Defenseless is a powerful soul gripping story about two people that realize that fighting for love is always worth it.
Mark is a lot of things but he’s also light, so of course Corinne was going to give us a heroine that wasn’t gonna easy. Charlie is one of a kind. She’s just stubborn and guarded for a reason. She lives on a man’s world; one that she thinks nobody understands what she’s been through until Mark. I understood a lot of things within her, her battles, her fears, if i was in her place i would’ve done some of the things she’d done.
The point of this story is no matter how easy it might be for us woman to be in charge, to take control, we need to learn how to surrender. To let our man take it, to help us, to love and be loved.
Charlie and Mark went through hell but at the end they both realized what was really important. Just them. Their love. Their family. GOD IT WAS SO FREAKING STUNNING!!
Corinne Michaels is truly exceptional, she creates stories and characters that take hold of your heart immediately and you just can’t let go. It goes without saying that she’s one of my i-need-her-books-in-my-life author and always will be. Corinne is the ONLY author i read for my military fix. ONLY HER. Is not surprising she was my first 5 STARS review of the year. This woman is amazing.
For those Muffing girls (Jackson girls) he’ll make fall in love with him all over again.
I’m telling you guys, you will love Defenseless, you’ll love each character, you’ll treasure this story. If you haven’t yet read The Belonging Duet or The Consolation Duet seriously drop everything and start now!!
Mark and Charlie will leave you breathless.
