Maverick “the Avenger” Cage wants to rise to the top and become a legend in the ring. Though he keeps his identity well guarded, he's known on the fighting circuit as the new kid with a chip on his shoulder and a tattoo on his back that marks him as trouble. He's got a personal score to settle with the Underground's one and only Remington "Riptide" Tate.
As Mav trains, he meets a young girl—the only other new person in the town--and sparks fly. When things get heated between them, he finds out she's none other than Reese Dumas, the cousin of Remington Tate’s wife. A girl who's supposed to root against him and a girl he's supposed to stay away from.
But Maverick fights for the woman in his heart, and the monsters in his blood. The world’s eyes are on them and the victor will go down in history as the ultimate fighting champion; the ultimate LEGEND.
The highly anticipated sixth story in the New York Times bestselling series that began with Real—“a rare mix of fevered obsession and gentle enchantment…a visceral and addicting debut” (Christina Lauren)

Book & Audiobook Review: 5+++ Stars
There are no words to describe how much I FLOVED Maverick and Reese’s story. I missed Katy’s writing style. Her plotting mind is beautiful. I loved her description of the emotions, and the actions, her development of the characters. Everything, literally I loved everything in this book. I loved the connection with Remy and Brooke’s story but also, I loved that Katy wrote it so good that this book could be read completely as standalone. SIGH! I’m still reeling from the fights, and the romance, and the sex…. *shakes head* I’m sensing a book hangover…
Well, this is old news here, but I don’t usually read synopsis, and less from an author I love, so I entered to The Legend world with my eyes closed. I only knew I was going to be conflicted at some point of the story because the MC of this book was going to fight against Remi, and I was really afraid of how I was going to deal with that. But…. Katy is such an amazing writer that she made it all possible: being able to be in both their sides, without making you feel like you were cheating on both of them… That and having several book boyfriends in the same story is a little embarrassing LOL hahahah Just kidding!
So… Maverick was the new fighter of the underground. He wanted to fight but he couldn’t find a coach or someone who could help him. And then he met Reese. She was in the same gym he was “training” at, and she helped him, without even knowing who he was. Reese on the other hand was Brooke’s cousin. She needed to get away from home and accepted to babysit Racer while Remy was on tour for the summer, and that work had its perks, one of those was having access to great gyms, and that’s how she met the mysterious Cage—or Maverick, if you may know.
So, Maverick and Reese interactions at the gym slowly became into a beautiful friendship and then into something more. I loved, loved, loved that Reese thought of Maverick as her friend, which for her wasn’t a bad thing, in fact, it was THE BEST THING EVER. Their friendship was so strong that they accepted each other for who they were, with or without their pasts or families.
This book was a beautiful, heartwarming read for me. I was even crying at some point of the story. But it was also full of action, and I was so excited when Sebastian York was roaring the beginning of every fight, when they were calling Maverick to the ring:
“Maverick. ‘The Avenger.’ Caaaaage!”
Grace Grant & Sebastian York made one helluva work in this audiobook. I loved how in touch was Grace with Reese’s live, feelings, past, present. I loved how Sebastian made Maverick to look mysterious at the beginning—obviously it was all Katy’s doing, but the narration made it all more mysterious, and then, when the biggest revelation of this story happened, Sebastian transmitted every deep emotion of Maverick’s life.
