Her gaze had never left his eyes, like she could see right into his mind. The screen cracked again, a fissure from the top to the bottom. She was actually going to break through the impenetrable glass.
Finally the chair dropped from her grasp. She walked to the mural and put one hand on it. He mimicked her motion despite his bodyguard's protests.
Hand-to-hand they stood and he could feel her hot hate. This close to her face he could see into her cloudy, gray eyes. They held so much pain.
He almost felt sympathy.
Her perfect lips, rose-colored from her exertion, began moving. He hoped the camera was still functioning so he could replay her words again and again later. Her voice was reverent, a promise wrapped in a prayer.
"Know this, I will kill you. Take these words and carve them on your horrible soul." She looked from his lips to his eyes and smiled before adding, "I will be the one that kills you."

Book Review: 5 stars
What an amazing book! WOW! I’m in awe with Debra’s ability to create a very original plot, with such complex characters and a storyline that kept me on the edge from beginning to end. This isn’t a book I’d normally choose to read, because of the dark synopsis—it’s not a secret that’s not my thing—and because it isn’t romance—which I crave like a junkie in every book I read—The Revenger is more like a paranormal, sci-fi, action, suspense kinda book. But I read it anyway because Debra is one of my favorite authors, I love her writing style and her stories are very unique, so I gave it a try without thinking and I’m so happy I did, because I FLOVED it from beginning to end.
Savvy lost her family in a tragic accident a year ago and since then she’s been lost. Only her brother has been there to take care for her and prevent her to end her own life. Until one night when she decided to find revenge for what happened to her family and she ended up beating a man with inhuman strength. She didn’t understand how she had all that power but she would take advantage of it. That event attracted the interest of a very powerful and evil man, Silas, who made everything he could to find Savvy and make her his. He knew she’d be the best asset for his evil plans. Savvy’s search for revenge, Silas’ need of human contact may be his redeeming quality or his doom, read The Revenger to find out how this pans out. I assure you will love every page of this book, just like I did.
What I loved the most about this book? The fact that every character had a very important role in this story. Debra has the ability to develop awesome characters with great purpose in the story. Everything and everyone has a meaning in the plot. I also loved all the memories of Savvy’s family. They were her real strength, they made her more powerful than the compound that gave her supernatural powers. I loved the action in the scenes, how ruthless Savvy was, all the bloody mess. I LOVED everything! I think this book would make a badass movie.
All in all, this was an awesome book with one helluva book girlfriend #TeamSavvy!. If I found more books like this, I’d totally have more diversity in my book worm life, and my collection of book boyfriends and girlfriends would be way more interesting.
Note: This book counts for my 2016 Reading Challenge as the Science-fiction novel.
