The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that comes with her.

Lydia Green doesn't know whether to burn down the church or sit and cry in a corner. Discovering the love of your life is having an affair on your wedding day is bad enough. Finding out it's with his best man is another thing all together. She narrowly escapes tying the knot and meets Vaughan only hours later.

Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessman she thought she'd marry. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and unsettled. But she already tried Mr. Right and discovered he's all wrong-maybe it's time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.

After all, what's wrong with getting dirty?

— 5 stars —

“Dirty” is the story of Lydia. She’s about to do the biggest mistake of her life in marrying the obviously not into her Chris. In her new role as runaway-bride, she seeks shelter in an abandoned house next door – only that it’s not so abandoned, as she soon notices, when the very naked house-owner Vaughan finds her in his bathtub… Can something beautiful come out of a lot of misery and a truckload of problems?

So, I honestly was a bit hesitant to request this book on Netgalley at all. After all, my experience with Kylie Scott’s books is a very mixed one. In her Stage Dive-Series, I took turns liking and not-liking her books. So there was a 50% chance I would actually like her new book “Dirty”, which is a spin-off of her first series. BUT I ended up loving it, thank heavens! It was hilarious, funny, sexy and sweet. Yes, the dialogues were a bit OTT ‘funny’ sometimes, the case of insta-love is a very bad one and there were some tiny things that prevented me from giving it the title “perfect book”, but all in all, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved “Dirty”! The writing was great, the characters so damn adorable and the sex was super-hot. The sexual tension between the two MC’s was palpable. And despite the slow pace of the book, there was enough angst to keep me interested from start to finish. The secondary characters were just as amazing, I can imagine a lot more books in this new series with a lot of them. Most of all Pat intrigued me *waggles eyebrows*.

What I also loved, was the fact that the female MC was your average Mary Jane. She didn’t have a super-slim body or hair that cascaded in golden waves down her back, always coifed perfectly with the latest trends in fashion. How many times have I already rolled my eyes, when there were girls/women in books, who did nothing more than study, no job & no nothing, but always the best clothes to wear? Or doing no sports but eating pizza and drinking alcohol all the time without being at least four sizes bigger than zero? Even though it’s fiction, it’s very refreshing to sometimes read about someone, who has to fight the same problems as everyone. Whereas this was very realistic, many things weren’t – but that didn’t dampen my reading experience one bit.

All in all, I rate “Dirty” with 5 stars and can recommend it to everyone. Not only for fans of romance novels, since this is also a book about friendship, making decisions in life, growing with your hurdles and making the best of everything. But the romance, *dreamy sigh* – it was perfect, too. I’ll definitely look forward to the next book in this series!
