Fame, fortune, and stadiums full of screaming fans are right around the corner for the rock band at the heart of Stina Lindenblatt’s steamy, intense Pushing Limits series. But it’s an epic love affair that steals the show in this opening act.

When Nolan Kincaid skipped town to chase the music career of his dreams, he knew he wouldn’t miss the reminders of his broken family—he wasn’t so sure he could forget the girl he left behind. Now his band is touring nonstop, the recording sessions go all night, and the groupies are crazed. But when he hears that Hailey Wilkins is in trouble, he drops everything.

Hailey thought she’d missed her chance with Nolan. Five years ago, the moment she realized she loved him was the moment he decided to leave. Now, when a brutal assault lands her in the ICU, Nolan flies straight to her bedside, acting like nothing’s changed. What’s a rock star like him doing, canceling shows and risking his record deal, just to nurse an old friend back to health? And why should Hailey believe he’ll stay this time?

With her attacker still at large, Nolan’s ready to rise to the occasion. He knows he let Hailey down once before, but he’s ready to give her everything, heart and soul—and he’ll fight for the chance to prove it.

Caro’s Review: 3 stars

“This one moment” is the story of Nolan and Hailey. They were best friends all through childhood and both were secretly in love with each other, until Nolan just up and left to push his career as a rockstar. He succeeded and is now the singer and songwriter for a popular band, touring the United States. But one call from one of his oldest friends, informing him, Hailey is in a coma changes everything. Can Hailey forgive him for leaving her behind and do they have a second chance at love?

This was a sweet cookie-cutter romance. The writing was a bit off, I couldn’t really feel for the characters. Nolan, Hailey and the secondary characters were nice enough, the chemistry between the two MC’s palpable for the first part of the book. But then it started to drag and a forth-and-back like read so many times before started. De facto, nothing was wrong with this novel, for me personally, it was just a bad coincidence that a few things didn’t add up and I couldn’t like the book completely.

All in all, I rate “This one moment” with 3 stars and can recommend it to fans of sweet, uneventful friends-to-lovers novels.

Ralou’s Review: 4 stars!

“I just wanted to live in the moment. This moment.”

What a sweet lovely story!!! I loved every minute of it and I couldn’t put it down! Plus, it’s about music so it was inevitable for me not to love it. But let’s take it from the start.

This One Moment is the first installment in the Pushing Limits series. The story that it tells is of two best – in love – friends, Hailey and Nolan, who have lost touch for 5 years now and one sudden, unfortunate situation brings them back together. Nolan, or aka Tyler, is the lead singer of the band Pushing Limits and the songwriter of the most of the songs. Hailey is a girl who had to abandon her dreams for awhile because of a serious family problem. During one of Nolan’s concerts, he gets a call that his best friend is in a coma and so he gets the first flight leaving for his home town ASAP.

When he gets there, everything he had buried deep in him and everything he feels for Hailey are coming back, more powerful than ever. And when Hailey finally wakes up – I was btw a bit disappointed of how fast that happened -, they enter into a series of decisions, memories, feelings that never gone away and never were expressed, dangers and fears which will push their relationship up in the romantic level and gives the throws the Past in their way for one final round of fight.

What I saw in that moment was a reflection of what I felt for him: love.

Hailey and Nolan are two extremely well-written characters and with personalities which are beyond special. The chemistry they share and their unique way of expressing their feelings to each other, simply swept me away. One page was going after the other in no time! And my heart got a chance to beat even faster!

Stina Lindenblatt is a new author to me and a very good one I may add. The whole time while I was reading this book, her writing had got into me and was swinging me between emotions and situations smoothly and with a very satisfying way. I will sure keep an eye on her in the future. She is really worth it!
