How can someone so smokin’ hot be so bad in bed? I mean, Sean Cassidy is absolute rubbish. RUBBISH. He is the epitome of walking, talking false advertising and I want a refund! Plus he’s an arsehole. So… what is wrong with me that I can’t stop thinking about him?

THE PIXIE

Lucy Fitzpatrick doesn’t like rugby.

As the little sister of Ireland’s most infamous rugby player, Lucy can’t seem to escape the championship-sized shadow cast by her big brother, or her mother’s frequent attempts to micromanage her future. Her rainbow hair is as free-spirited as her quest for inner peace, yet overbearing expectations keep bringing her down. And when she’s down, her compulsive little problem lands her in seriously big trouble.

THE PLAYER

Sean Cassidy is a cold-hearted brute… or so he’s been told. Frequently. By everyone.
His blonde locks, baby blues, and rock hard bod make ladies the world over drool with desire. As the rugby world’s second most infamous player, he should be basking in his success. But Sean has never been content settling for second place, and his frequent confrontations with Lucy’s big brother leave him cold. And when he’s cold, his compulsive little problem lands him in the lap of Lucy Fitzpatrick.

THE PLAN

Sean has a problem only Lucy can solve. Lucy has a problem only Sean can fix. The solution seems obvious: you scratch my back, and I’ll bail you out of jail. But when their business arrangement unexpectedly leaves Sean scorching hot and Lucy on the precipice of inner peace, can they convince the world—and Lucy’s big brother in particular—that this is the real deal?

Either way, both the Player and the Pixie are about to teach each other some pretty monumental lessons about family, life, but most importantly, love.

6 LOVELY STARS!

SQUEEEEEEE! okay i needed to start this review squealing because i haven’t stopped squealing or daydreaming with this characters. Specially with Sean Cassidy, but i’ll get to him later.

The release of this book is the best thing that happened this year. I loved this book in so many ways i can’t even explain it. YOU CAN’T HELP BUT GET LOST IN LUCY AND SEAN AND DEVOUR THIS BOOK! Penny Reid and L.H. Cosway together they don’t create a story and just a book, no. they create a WORLD. Is outstanding what this two woman can do!

We meet Lucy Fitzpatrick and Sean Cassidy in the Hooker and Hermit. Lucy as Ronan quirky and humble sister and Sean as the heartless teammate everyone dislikes, Including Lucy… or so we thought!

((Side Note: This book is a standalone but if u want to see where it all began, then yes, pick up The Hooker and the Hermit… now back to the book))

I LOVE, and when i say love i mean i absolutely adore what Reid and Cosway did with this two characters. First Lucy, she’s sweet, sassy, cute and humble. She’s everything i love a heroine to be. It took me by surprise to read she had a very uncommon flaw caused by anxiety. Without giving too much away, when i got into Lucy’s head i was sad, i wanted to protect her so much i even wondered if Sean was going to be good at doing just that. After walking in turbulent waters she came out strong and proud, it make me so proud i sobbed, i want to be just like her.

”But most importantly, deep down, I didn’t think he liked himself very much. It made me sad. It also made me want to make him happy.”

SEAN CASSIDY. We have book boyfriends, even book husbands but there are the ones that are so much they have their own category. THAT’S SEAN. One of a kind and so MINE! Sean was mean. A character i had no hope for. I guess even as bookworms we easily judge….fictional characters but still somehow we do it. We expect perfection even out of fictional characters and what i mean is we expect flaws we can easily forgive and we don’t open our minds for more. Sean needed sooooooo much love, he was like a lost puppy for me. I found myself getting inside his head and loving him instantly. I loved him when he was sweet and i loved him when he was simply a jerk. How? i can’t even explain it myself. I want my own Sean Cassidy. I LOVE THE WAY HE LOVED LUCY. For me he was a sex god, he might learned that a bit later but i found that totally irresistible.

”Yes. I was going for broke for Lucy Fitzpatrick. As such, I was sweating and jittery. And nervous in a new and completely terrifying way.”

The Player and the Pixie is a story about acceptance, no matter the flaws everyone deserves a someone and sometimes we are able to find perfection even within the flaws. In all its seriousness, Lucy and Sean have fun in their way to love making this experience even more joyful. I found myself loving this book even more than i loved The Hooker and the Hermit and trust me, that one was its own kind of amazing. I think i was drawn more towards this book because i’m one of those woman that believes in making the bad boy fall in love and yet it was so much more! This two were the perfect couple because they were the most mismatched couple.

“You, occupying all my thoughts, that’s not normal, Lucy. You said i’d forget. I haven’t. I can’t. And i don’t want to.”

READ THIS BOOK! is one of the best decisions you could make this year! L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid, NEVER fail to show just how brilliant they are and together the combination is explosive.
