Join Jake & Chelsea, Stanton & Sofia, Brent & Kennedy as they navigate the hilarious and heartwarming hurdles of love, life and the law in this final addition to the Legal Briefs Series.

There was a time when Jake Becker had it all together. He was controlled, driven, ruthless—in and out of the courtroom.

Then, six irresistible orphans and their heartbreakingly beautiful aunt crashed into his perfectly ordered life. They changed everything. They changed him. Now he’s a husband, an upstanding member of society, a father figure—a family man.
And he’s pretty damn good at it.

Sure, he has to referee sibling smackdowns, re-learn algebra, ensure his clients stay of jail, and keep his wife happy—but it finally feels like he’s got it together again....
So, of course something has to screw it all up.

It’s huge. Life-changing. Kind of terrifying.

And it will be the most amazing, perfect thing he’ll ever do.

Book Review: 5+++ stars

There’s only one word to describe this novella: PERFECTION!

Sidebarred was something I didn’t expect and more than I could have ever dreamed of. Jake and Chelsea’s love story was perfect as it was and I was so happy with their cameo in Appealed. I was content. I was satisfied. And then… Sidebarred was announced and my life was incomplete, I was like the Jake pre-Chelsea—thought I had it all. Truth was that needing Jake and Chelsea and all the kids was everything that I needed. But, newsflash, I needed more. And this novella gave it to me. I won’t say a word of what it is, cause you have to find out by yourself.

Ok, so after that little introduction, I have to say this: THANK YOU EMMA FOR THIS AMAZING NOVELLA. I don’t know how you do it, but you always, always, always write the greatest books with the greatest characters and and the greatest everything.

I loved everything about Sidebarred. Jake & Chelsea, the kids, the pregnancy, and the little drama that was throughout the novella. Of course the cameo of the other two couples was amazing as always. When Brent made appearance, I was jumping up and down of excitement. I just love him like crazy. And my favorite moment of all was with all the family together. I was laughing my ass off with all the craziness of these kids. Emma managed to write a scene with six kids talking at the same time and I felt like I was watching a tennis match, reading everything what they were saying, yelling, and their reactions! *chuckles* It was so funny. And what Jake said to all this was the cherry on top:

“I think that went well.”

LOL! That scene was so funny I even read it out loud to my mom—actually, I translated it to Spanish, and she was cracking up with me.

The epilogue and the extended epilogue and the extra extended epilogue—yes, Emma put it all in less than 100 pages, believe me—were all perfect. I couldn’t get enough of it. I reread the extended epilogue of Appealed and then repeated the epilogues of Sidebarred and I couldn’t stop smiling. Like I said: PERFECTION!

So, now you have to go and read this novella. If you haven’t read the other books of the series, please do so. I assure you that you’ll love them all.
