book review: 5 Beckers stars!!

I had just finished Sustained when this novella came out and when I read its blurb, just thinking that it have Daddy Jake in there it gave me powerful chills down my spine. But, after reading the first chapter, well….. it went downhill from there.

Just thinking and waiting for more of Jake made me really giddy and my hands twitchy. The ARC couldn’t really get fast enough in my hands. And when that time came, I abandoned everything else I was doing and dove straight into it! Couldn’t resist! And what I got worthed every agonized moment I went through waiting.

And form when should I start with this book. From the incredible McQuaid kids who keep claiming part of my heart? The amazingness that Daddy Jake is? The fantastic woman and Jake’s absolute other-half Chelsea is? There are so many things about this family that never ceases to amaze me and make me adore them even more. The way they communicate, love each other hard, protect each other etc just leaves me breathless and heart-soared.

“All of this only works if you’re here. It begins with you, it ends….”

And I think this is the moment where I MUST make a reference of one of my most favorites scenes E V E R! And not just from The Legal Briefs series; of all the books! Well, that scene is, of course, the moment when Chelsea and Jake are about to announce their pregnancy to the kids. From the first second I got to that part, I couldn’t stop laughing. The kids had simply the most epic reactions! The dialogues that Emma made to take place between the kids and Jake & Chelsea were undoubtedly priceless. I had cracked the hell up! I believe I got a new liver after that!

Emma Chase succeeded to do two things with this novella:

1. She made me love Jake Becker even more than I already was. And after reading Sustained, believe me when I say, I thought that it wasn’t possible.
2. She made me not hate One Direction so much. I mean, when you get to read the story of one of the most perfect BBFs out there and who is using OD as a lullaby, then you don’t have any other choice but to change your opinion about them :p

There are not enough words express how much I love Emma’s writing and incredible skill to create form the most enjoyable and irresistible BBFs, scenes, loves with tons of emotions, humor, sweetness and swooning. The only part I’m sad about Sidebarred was that I didn’t get to read the Bonus since I haven’t got to read Brent’s story yet! And I really NEED to get with it ASAP!!!! <3 <3 <3 I can’t wait to see with what she will get next which I bet will be as mind-blowing!!
