book review: 5+ stars!

J. J. McAvoy always has been a guarantee to me for reading a freaking great book with lots of twists and a plot that leaves you breathless. And That Thing Between Eli & Gwen doesn’t fall out of these categories. But, and again, McAvoy never disappoints to deliver awesome-as-hell stories. It is what it is! A undoubted fact.

That Thing Between Eli & Gwen is a standalone story which you’d wish to be a part of a series or something because you can’t get enough.

Its founding idea is simply amazing and an one whose similar I have never got to read before. Which makes it even more special to me. From the first time I read the blurb, I knew instantly that I’m gonna more than love this book. Just imagining how this story would unfold, gave me chills all over my body. And, honestly, I got a BULL’S EYE!.

The fun that I had during the first part of the book while Eli & Gwen are going around and around each other can’t be counted. I laughed my ass off so much in some situations they got themselves into. Their interactions after the disaster in Eli’s wedding, were plain gems. I had a grin constantly attached to my face while reading them. As they got closer, these interactions were getting on DEEP emotion field, which made me, in return, all mushy inside. And DAMN if both Eli and Gwen hasn’t got the dating, the love and the deep game in a whole new level! Together they were creating real magic and an fantastic spell I didn’t want to get out from.

“You are a vixen… my vixen.”

I was feeling in a portion what the characters were feeling because McAvoy has a habit to do that to me; to make me feel what her characters are. It’s some times overwhelmingly amazing! Eli & Gwen went through so so much during the 278 addicting pages of the book. Every strong emotion there is on this planet, they felt it to its core; sadness, joy, love, contentment, whole, heartbreak, pain, shock etc. But they made them come out of them even stronger and more in love than ever.
J. J. McAvoy is one of the authors whose work spellbounds me even before I read the actual stories. She also one of the few authors I have blind faith on since no matter the blurb of , the book, just because it’s written by her pen, makes it a MUST READ for me. It may all this sounds a bit extravagant, but it’s really not. It’s my truth when it comes to McAvoy’s books. I really can’t wait to read the rest of her work. And I wonder what the future holds from her pen……. 😉 :p
