Clay Maxwell is a smart, quick witted, sex-driven, manwhore with the good looks to match. Plenty of women have shared his bed, but only one has ever been constant, Andrea.
Their rules were simple. When they’re together, it’s just the two of them. When they’re apart, anything is fair game. And it worked. For ten years.
But one of them has changed the game…
Clay must decide if his player ways are worth losing the one girl who has always been there

Book Review: 4.5 stars
I have been waiting to read a K.A. Linde novel. I have heard good references about her and when I read the blurb for “Struck from the Record”, I was totally intrigued and couldn’t wait to meet Clay Maxwell.
This book was everything that I expected. It has romance, intrigue, angst and a beautiful ending. Even though I prefer books written in first person, I really enjoy reading this in third person and from Clay’s perspective.
“Struck from the Record” is a spin off from the “Record” series. Clay Maxwell belongs to a politician family and all that he ever wanted was for his father to be proud of him and to stop being in his older brother’s “shadow”. Because of this, he distanced himself from his father and grew up with resentment towards his brother. To prove he wouldn’t stay hidden in his shadow, he excelled in everything he could: top of his class in Yale, Supreme Court clerking, best law job. The only constant in his life is his best friend and girlfriend, Andrea Billings.
Clay and Andrea have an open relationship. Unconventional, they have their own rules as neither of them wanted to be ‘tied down”, they agreed to be together, but when they’re apart, they are free to sleep with other people. This has worked for them, until an unfortunate incident that makes Andrea question her relationship with Clay. The arrangement no longer works for her and she wants more.
Clay enjoys women and when Andrea asks for “more” out of their relationship, he freaks out. He doesn’t understand why Andrea would want more. He thinks things are good the way they are. Because of his reluctance for having a monogamist relationship with Andrea, he learns the age old saying “you never know what you have until you lose it”. Clay finds out the hard way that Andrea is all that he ever wanted, but by the time he realizes it, it could be too late.
This is the 4th book from the “Record” series, but it can be read as a standalone. I’m very pleased with this book! I loved Clay just the way he is. K.A.Linde’s writing lets you fall in love with all the previous characters in books 1,2,3. Even if you haven’t read Brady Maxwell’s Off The Record (Record #1) story, you immediately love the whole Maxwell family. I can’t wait for Savannah’s story in “Broken Record” (Record #5).
