A Family With Bourbon in Its Blood, and Blood on Its Hands
When Cooper McQueen wakes up from a night with a beautiful stranger, it's to discover he's been robbed. The only item stolen—a million-dollar bottle of bourbon. The thief, a mysterious woman named Paris, claims the bottle is rightfully hers. After all, the label itself says it's property of the Maddox family who owned and operated Red Thread Bourbon distillery since the last days of the Civil War until the company went out of business for reasons no one knows… No one except Paris.
In the small hours of a Louisville morning, Paris unspools the lurid tale of Tamara Maddox, heiress to the distillery that became an empire. But the family tree is rooted in tainted soil and has borne rotten fruit. Theirs is a legacy of wealth and power, but also of lies, secrets and sins of omission. The Maddoxes have bourbon in their blood—and blood in their bourbon. Why Paris wants the bottle of Red Thread remains a secret until the truth of her identity is at last revealed, and the century-old vengeance Tamara vowed against her family can finally be completed.
From the internationally celebrated author of the Original Sinners series comes a brand-new tale of betrayal, revenge and a family scandal that bore a 150-year-old mystery.

Jenn’s Book Review: 5+ Stars
Intense, mysterious, soul twisting story!
My whole being is so drained from all energy after reading this book that I don’t even know where to start with this review. It’s no secret I am a HUGE fan of Tiffany Reisz and her previous work so I was excited to see which direction she took with this book that is completely different from what I have read from her so far.
And boy did she delivered once again or what!!! JACK FREAKING POT!!!!
My interest was there from the very first start and just kept on building and building as the story went on. This is one of those books that has you saying” Just one more chapter, just one more page” and that never ends well. You keep going and going, it’s impossible to stop really. I mainly read this book in one sitting, it had my greedy need for satisfaction going and my jaw was more times on the floor than it was attached to my face. My heart hurts still when I think back on some moments and tears are coming to my eyes.
The story is captivating, intense, different and so incredibly beautiful. I am still in this maze about main characters Tamara and Levi and I adored spending every second with them. They completely took over my heart and I am their biggest fan. And as the plot kept unrevealing itself you think you would come closer to some conclusion but it has you only more tangled in this web of secrets and lies and once the answers came they were HEARTBREAKING! Just when I thought I was starting to figure things out I was taken on a completely other paths and once I realized what was going on I was crying like a baby that got her toy taken.
This book shows once again how Tiffany Reisz is different from her colleagues and how her writing stands out on its own. Her mind and thinking seems to be one of a kind and the way she creates her stories might me a bit unconventional and questioning for some readers. But in reality she is a genius and I am so happy she is sharing her talent with her readers and putting her thoughts in writing. I don’t know if it’s just me or what but somehow while reading this story I got the feeling of a hidden message in it that is very well needed to today’s society.
We maybe can’t affect what happened in the past, but we can change the things in our present that can have a major impact on our future!
I am so immensely satisfied with this book and will have to re-read it soon again because this is one that sticks with you and you have to give it your full attention to appreciate the golden corns in it.
I highly recommend it to everyone. Open your minds and allow yourself to be taken to some other time that will bring you back into present day. Well well done Tiffany. Keep up the great job you seem to be having no problems with doing.

Destroy what they loved”

Ralou’s Review: 6 Red Thread stars!!
I can’t believe that I spent so much time without getting to know Tiffany Reisz’s incredible mind and writing. I am without doubt utterly blown away! She is, as it seems, the real deal!
The Bourbon Thief is the first book I read of her and it was so damn awesome, that even my mind can’t give me the right words to express that. It’s in a speechless-only-feelings mode since I finished it. Every page was even greater than the last and the plot was simply a masterpiece. I have never cam across anything like that and I have to admit that it’s moment/experience which left a forever-and-ever scar in every cell of my body. The blown-away-ness of this story is simply unreal!
I had lost count after the 30% point the times I was being shocked to death and back. Every new page was a new adventure and a even harder shove into this SHOCKING world Tiffany created through this book. Whatever I say about it or the incredibly great-written, completed characters will not do justice. Each and every one is an ideal part of the story that fits it and takes even further. The historic foundation that it had, along with the unique love story of Tamara and Levi and the story-telling session of Paris and Cooper, took it to the highest level while making it one of the most addicting books I had ever had the chance to read. And about to be read again and again and again because one time will never be enough!
“You ruined me before”, he said. “You’re going to ruin me again.”
There were many times that I had come close to bit my nails completely off because of the agony of the way everything would unfold before my eyes. And it’s a situation that no ones who is about to read it can get away from. Either you want it or not, the edge of the seat will become your temporary home during the reading. The twists, the secrets, the plans and the madness it contains makes you incapable to stop. The word “STOP” stops being included in your vocabulary the moment you start the first chapter.
As for the end, my chin is still dropped to the floor! Just like in the rest of the book, so now I never saw what happened coming. And whatever book can do that it’s deserved to be described and characterised only as A Beautiful, Dark, Breathtaking, Addicting, All-time Perfect Masterpiece of a Book. No simplier and more accurate description for this. And of course, the recommendation goes without question; even if you love dark or not. THIS is a book which must be read by E V E R Y O N E out there who loves reading.
P.S.: Now, more than ever, I crave crave crave to read Original Sinners. My anticipation and giddiness for it has reached dangerous levels 😉
