After reading MY PERFECT MISTAKE (Over the Top #1), I was thrilled that Lily & Sawyer would have their own story! I am so in love with Kelly Siskind books, that I didn’t want to miss this new story of hers. In FINE MESS(Over the Top #2), I fell for the story. The writing was absolutely perfect. The feeling combinations were superb. It was the perfect balance of romance, sexiness, sweetness and hilarious moments.
We first met Lily & Sawyer in MY PERFECT MISTAKE (Over the Top #1), they were secondary characters, the friends we all fell in love with and dreamed of having friends like them in real life. We knew about the attraction between them, but Lily had a long term relationship that she’d been struggling with (she doesn’t know how to end things with her boyfriend). And Sawyer is not the “relationship” kind of guy. He grew up watching his mother suffer because of his dad and as a result, he thinks he will hurt any woman that comes into his life just like his dad did to his mom.
When Lily was the “off limits” girl, Sawyer liked to tease her, touch her every time he could, sending signals to Lily, but when Lily decided to finish her relationship because of lack of love, Sawyer didn’t know how to deal now. The girl he was interested and never thought he’d ever have, is now available. Sawyer is sure he will hurt her, but he loves her too much to let her go, so now things are awkward between them.
This story is about real problems, real insecurities. The kind of story you have to read if you love romance. The author knew exactly what a romance fan looks for and she gave it to us. I highly recommend it.
