10 BEAUTIFULLY MAGICAL STARS!
I can’t find a way to start writing this review. Sometimes is just not easy to explain how much you love a book or a book series. The Fantasyland series is everything a reader would want in a book. Each books gives ypu a magical and unforgettable once in a lifetime experience. WITHOUT DOUBT ONE OF THE BEST SERIES I HAVE EVER READ. Midnight Soul is magical, beautiful and hypnotizing. You won’t just be reading a fantasy book, you’ll become one with this characters. I honestly can’t say this is my favorite book in the series because all the books are simply amazing in their own way. But all i know is that i looooooved it. I wish i could tattoo each page on my body. So far, the best book this year on my list was Collen Hoover It Ends With Us but even tho this is fantasy we are talking about Kristen Ashley, she always writes the kind of books that makes us lose ourselves in the beauty that are her words.
I remember when i first read Wildest Dreams and for the life of me i NEVER EVER thought i Kristen Ashley was going to write a book about FRANKA DRAKKAR. NOT FREAKING EVER. If you are a fan of the series and have read the first 4 books then you know what i’m talking about. Franka was a character none of us liked. She was just not pleasant. When i got to Broken Dove, there was what i thought was a subtle change in her but not enough to see the good in her. When Kristen Ashley just threw the news of Midnight Soul at us and the couple being Noc and Franka I ALMOST DIED OKAY. I counted the days, the hours and the seconds until i got to read the book.
I don’t care what you thought about Franka Drakkar, SHE IS THE MOST ENDEARING HEROINE EVER. I fell completely in love with her because falling for Noc, that was automatic. I knew we needed someone of the parallel world to seriously take in our world but OMG THE FEEEEEEEEEELS AND SO MUCH BEAUTY. Franka was never the woman we thought she was, she was broken and beaten, she made unbelievable sacrifice for her family, i seriously just wanted to keep her in my pocket so no one could touch her but she probably would’ve frowned at that LOL. But OH MY check this quote by FREY!
“For the first time in my life, you’ve made me proud to be a Drakkar.’’ I CRIED.
We knew Noc of our world didn’t get a happy ending in Fantastical so i suspected something was in the making for him. Like all Kristen Ashley’s heroes, Noc is capable, passionate and so damn sweet and so damn hot. You guys will adore him.
Can we talk about VALENTINE for a second. I wanted more of her story. Valentine was way more complex than Franka and still someone loved her, i wanted in her thoughts, in her lover thoughts, so i felt it was like a tease, like the series didn’t really conclude there. And Valentine is a freaking important character. *SIGH*
If you are reading this review but haven’t yet read any the first 4 books, i gotta say even tho Midnight Soul can be read as a standalone, i recommend you to at least read Wildest Dreams (book 1) so you can at least get on with the tune of the plot. What happens in book 1 is what basically happens on the rest but in different ways. Midnight Soul has it a little more advanced and i can’t help but feel that first time readers of the series will feel a little bit lost with Midnight Soul.
Now i need to get this out if my chest. I NEED BOOK 6, why?!!!!! I can’t say without giving spoilers so i won’t but seriously just a novella won’t do it… at least for me but i’ll still read it. And is not Valentine this time, is something way BIGGER.
This review is just rambles and rambles but seriously, there is so much to talk about. But going back to the beginning, Midnight Soul is unforgettable. It will held you captive from the very first page. I loved all the WORDS, all the FEELS, JUST EVERYTHING. You won’t want to stop reading, EVER. Kristen Ashley surpasses the favorite author list, she’s a shining star. Another book to add to my favorite books this year.
