I was taking my daughter and leaving, determined to give her a quieter life.
But Beckett Cruz had never taken no for an answer.

Book Review: 3 stars
Cassie is a young woman in her best years and at her peak. So this was supposed to be her time… The time to be a college student… To attend parties and just enjoy the easy life.
But life is all but easy for Cassie, she can’t do the things people at her age should be doing. Why is that you ask? She has a child to take care of. She got pregnant at 16 and left on her own to look after the precious baby she was blessed with. The only job she was able to get that worked with her current life was as an exotic dancer.
Beckett is the owner of the strip club where Cassie works and he is also a former dancer himself. That man is divine, just divine!!! Handsome, beautiful, sexy, kind, caring and it doesn’t hurt that he is loaded with more than package in his pants 😉
After one night of one drink too many these two get married and have this crazy sexy sexaton that should make it to be an instruction book! When they both realize what happened they try their best to get out of this accidental mess. But that is easier said than done. Sparks are still present more than ever and they can’t seem to keep away from one another, not in physical nor emotional way.
I loved everything about Beckett, come on the man is pure perfection in every way possible. He was sometimes clueless about how to act around kids but in his defense he didn’t had any chance to practice. But that didn’t stop him to be wonderful around Cassie’s daughter and learn his way around faster than lightning. I was melting at their interactions more than once. And he also knew how to treat a woman and show her respect and understanding.
Cassie, Cassie…Cassie is such a strong young lady struggling her way through life without a single complaint. All that to make her little girl’s life easier and better. She hasn’t had it easy all these years but refuses to let that define her and stop her from trying to achieve her dreams and make a better life for her family. Her persona and actions were heartwarming and made me respect young single moms even more than I already did.
This book is trying to crush all prejudice or at least get us to have more understanding towards all those brave girls who decide to keep their babies and keep fighting. I liked it and it was a light and enjoyable read for me. Hopefully it will give more courage to all those who are being in Cassie’s situation and try to look at life with more enthusiasm and hope.
Why I gave it 3 stars if I enjoyed it? It was good don’t get me wrong and I will say it any day of the week. It just didn’t held my interest through the whole story. Plot was good and promising and had me expecting more emotional action than I discovered. I was both super excited and hooked and then came moments where I simply wasn’t.
