He’s been making waves in Maryland’s underground racing circuit since he crossed the state line, and after speaking with him, we know he’s not hitting the brakes anytime soon.
So what exactly does it take to burn rubber and make a name for yourself in a world where the only rule is there are no rules?
You gotta be hungry…
You gotta have balls…
And you can never back down.
What’ve we learned here at GearShark?
Drew is all of the above.
We also know he’s got some secrets buried under his hood.

** This book contains an M/M romance relationship. **
Book Review: 4,5 stars
One of my favorite books of all times is “Him” by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy. Those two stories are similar in the rough, given the two male best friends falling for each other and dancing around one another until they have the courage to give into their feelings. And the obstacles that come with being gay in the athlete world.
This book had the extra of Drew, one of the MC’s, being a race-car-driver and I loved the racing scenes with him! The build-up and sexual tension when they started to feel more and more for each other but did not act on it yet… Oh boy, that was just plain delicious and about killed me. And when they finally had enough cojones to give into their feelings, it was just perfect.
The only thing that kept me from loving the book (not only liking it) was, that there was too much going on in total. This whole relationship-related drama with the bigots and haters giving them trouble for being together alone would have been an amazing story. But add to that everything race-car related, the whole big extended family, the frat-thing going on, the trouble with the rival from the race-track… Unfortunately, this all made my head spin in the middle and I wanted more of the relationship growing, it was as if I couldn’t concentrate on the romance because of everything else. At least I had to put great effort into concentrating and that annoyed me a bit.
“#Junkie” had great emotions, amazing writing, great characters and very sensual sex-scenes. All in all, I rate it with 4,5 stars and can recommend it to all fans of MM-romance.
Even though there are six books in the Hashtag-series prior to “#Junkie” and a lot of names were being thrown into the mix, which were all new to me, I didn’t feel like I should have read the other books before starting this. It made me curious to the other character’s stories, though.
Beware, “#Junkie” ends in a cliffhanger, although book two “#Rev” is already published.
