From the New York Times Bestselling Author that brought you The Resistance comes this dirty-talking, sexy standalone.

Because first love deserves a second chance

One month.
One movie.
One shot at a second chance.

I fell madly in love at first sight with Jane Lewis.

The girl with bright blue eyes, a pretty smile, and great ass owned my heart. I thought she was happy with the status quo, but ten years later, I foolishly let her go. Despite dating other women, no one compares to my first love. We are meant to be together, and I’m going to try my damnedest to convince her of that.

Luke Anders tricked me. The deal was sealed before I knew he was behind it.

We agreed to be just friends. Simple. Easy. But it’s not just the weather that’s hot in Texas. I was a fool to think I could resist him. He knows how to work his charms and those kissable lips, that great jaw, and biceps. We are here to work, but he has become downright distracting.

I’m strong. I can handle one month of his flirtatious sexual torture. But if I happen to fall in bed with that sexy bastard for a night, or three, does that make me weak? Asking for a friend, of course.

I guess I’m about to find out when love gets messy, it’s not just the talk that’s dirty.

Book Review: 3 stars

This book is about a second chance to the love that wasn’t supposed to have been let go. Jane and Luke have been in love with each other since they were 16 years old. Their love was strong and powerful and it seemed like they were in paradise all until one day they got separated by a misunderstanding that was followed by many more misunderstandings.

So both of them turned the other cheek and thought the other one had moved on and was happy. But truth was neither of them had truly moved on from that love they shared and they were just fooling others and themselves.

Today Luke is a successful movie producer and Jane is uprising movie screenplay writer and they get this big break and end up working together. Luke is determined to leave the past in the past and do his best to get his Jane back. Jane is also still head over heels in love with Luke but she has some serious struggling to do with forgiving him for all the hurt that some of his actions caused.

First of all…. I was hooked by this story from the first few pages!!! It was evident pretty early on how great Luke and Jane were together. Their love was strong, passionate and unbreakable!

Luke was just marvelous here, for me he did everything right from the moment he decided that enough was enough and they belonged together no matter what it cost him. I can’t give him enough of stars 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 Jane was more careful and guarded which is logical if we think about all the heartbreak she went through and I understand that. But…there is always a but…She was fighting a little too much for my taste. For every step forward she took, she took three steps back and many times it felt like a constant battle for Luke to reach to her. And this annoyed the hell out of me to be honest and I was beginning to wonder if I will be able to finish this book.

+ Book is written from dual POV
+ Book shows that true love don’t go away even if you try to chase it away
+ Book has great and strong dialogues
– Book was losing my interest as soon as Luke and Jane were out of the picture together
– Book needed more depth to the story than just running in circles about one and the same issue

So I can recommend it if you’re out for a light read without getting your emotions involved all too much otherwise maybe look elsewhere. I liked it but not that much that it will linger in my memory for too long.
