Wedding bells are ringing—and tempers are flaring—as the Take the Fall series continues in this sweet, sexy novel from the bestselling author of After We Fall (“This beautiful story kept me transfixed until the very end.”—Krista Lakes).

As a hardworking, hard-partying firefighter, Hayden Walker values his career and his freedom. But as the eldest son of a U.S. senator, he agreed long ago to follow in his father’s footsteps and run for office, and that means settling down and marrying the picture-perfect wife. Hayden just isn’t ready for that sort of commitment . . . not with women like beautiful, curvy Saylor Dean—the naughty bridesmaid he recognizes the morning after his buddy’s wedding—tempting Hayden to stay single forever.

The unwanted love child of a well-known politician, Saylor has always felt isolated and alone, her only solace the animal shelter she runs in Forrestville. Then she meets Hayden at her best friend’s wedding. During their impulsive and unforgettable night together, Saylor feels desired like never before—only to wake up and find that Hayden doesn’t remember his drunken proposal, or their hasty marriage, or her. But when the truth comes out, Saylor finds it’s a lot harder to fall out of love than in love.

book review: 6 “Sunshine” stars

This must be the B E S T one yet! My love for it went into UNREAL level after “The End” had been read.

Hard to Fall is the 4th book in the gorgeous and irresistible Take the Fall series. Each book speaks of epic love stories that make you want to be a part of them because you don’t want for them to end. This book made me want more than that; if that’s even possible. Hayden and Saylor’s story had me completely – if I can use the phrase – “By The Balls”. No kidding. The “I couldn’t put it down” doesn’t even begin to cover how I was during that read. I had gone completely off the “book addict” rail. Besides, if you add also the fact that I’m as total sucker for this kind of loves, then you have a WINNER!

“Like my very own ray of sunshine.”

Its story goes like this: Boy meets girl in their friends’s wedding. They get drunk and then get married. Boy forgets what he done the night before. Girl leaves sad. Boy can’t get her out of his mind so does everything to win her. And when Life had enough, girl spills the beans about the marriage. And maybe I would probably say that this is where the good stuff started happening. But N O! Not even close. The good stuff had started the very moment they got together. The sparks that ignite between them are too deafening and intense for any reader not to feel them too. And that moment is when my extreme adoration for this couple went downhill.

Chapter after chapter I fell more and more and more head over heels with the story and how Marquita chose to unfold it. It is honestly Hard NOT to Fall for it. Both Hayden and Saylor, and just like every one else, gave their best and laid their hearts bare before me so I can do the same and create a part in me with their name on it. Possibly forever. The whole book, from its A to its Z, radiates raw love, love and…. love. As for how beautiful to-its-core it is, it doesn’t fit any doubt.

This woman is my choice.

Mine alone.

I was a swooning pool on the floor every time Saylor was trying to push Hayden away, but every time he just pushed more and got more determined to break down her walls so he can “claim” her. Everything inside him was shouting at him that she is THE ONE for him and has to do everything in his power to not let her slip through his fingers. Saylor, now, is not the average female book character. Not even in a trillions lighting years. She is the most amazingly bizarre, interesting, fascinating and heart-warming female I had the chance to meet. She was blowing my mind off every time she let her true self loose and let me she her special world in her mind. And though she lived tough young years which created in her fears & obstacles, she kept being true to what she loves and believes. But Hayden’s existence in her life was more than fated since he was the only who could unlock her from the inside so she can finally see her uniqueness and that she meant the world to him.

“Have you considered that I didn’t know my type until the very moment I laid eyes on you?” – HAYDEN

Once again Marquita delivers a perfect and like-no-other romance book that you can’t by pass. She knows how to keep you on your toes and at the seat of your seat with your feelings hanging from a thread. Every character she has created in this series is a galaxy of his/er own, with his/er own characteristics, needs and motion. But always having a common characteristic that links them all together, taking you that way into a trip in their never ending “UNKNOWN”. Her pen has given me moments that can never leave my mind and my bookworm-ing heart. And I may said that Hard to Fall was my fav out of the whole series, but the bigger picture is that the Take the Fall is a series not to be missed. I only hope that she will add some more in it because I really need more from these amazing heroes.
