From USA Today bestselling author Meghan March comes another dangerously sexy alpha hero…

The only permanent thing in my life is the ink I put on my clients.
I drift form city to city, in and out of beds, from one tattoo shop to the next.
Every time I start to put down roots, I rip them up.
Until New Orleans.
Until her.
She’s everything I’m not.
Full of fire and life. An innocent where I’m a sinner.
I want to consume her. Protect her. Keep her.
But first, I have to escape from beneath these shadows.

Beneath These Shadows is a STANDALONE romance set in the world of the Beneath series. You DO NOT have to read any other books in the series to enjoy it.

BENEATH THE SHADOWS is the sixth book in the BENEATH series. When I asked for this book, I had no idea it belonged to a series. I wanted to read it just because it was Meghan Match’s book and because of the hot cover. *wink* You don’t need to read the previous books, in order to enjoy this one. I didn’t and I enjoyed it very much. But with that being said, at the end of the book, I wanted to read the previous books ASAP….it was that good.

I was glad this book has a crossover with THE DIRTY BILLIONAIRE trilogy and THE DIRTY GIRL duet, also by Meghan March.  Eden Mathews has a comfortable and easy life. She’s the daughter of one of the mob bosses in New York. She lived her life overprotected and she just wanted to “spread her wings”, so she can fly freely, be independent. But being the daughter of a mob boss comes with its risks. Now she’s in danger and has to leave New York and fly wherever she wants in order to stay low and wait until she can come back home. She has a “bucket list” and she always wanted to go visit New Orleans, so on impulse she gets a ticket and leaves behind her old life.

Bishop *sighs here* he’s the superhero we all dream of. He’s also a tattoo artist, with a beard and a bun. Just WOW! He doesn’t settle down. After a horrible past, he just wants to get laid and do his job until he bumps into Eden and saves her.

Bishop was enamored by Eden and has this protective instinct with her. He knows she can’t survive in New Orleans on her own and because of that, he NEEDS to protect her. Eden is tired of being under protection, she just wants to be able to do things on her own terms.  Find a job, a place to live, etc. She’s stronger than she looks, unfortunately random bad things happen that make it impossible for Bishop not to protect her.

This is a lovely, light, easy read. It has romance, burning hot sex scenes, funny moments and suspense. Meghan March did a good job. The story was amazing with a great plot full of twists and turns. I didn’t give it 5 stars because I think this story needed more than a book. The story went rather quickly. I feel there was more story to tell. I just needed more!
