An all new second chance love story by the New York Times Bestselling author of the Driven series.

It all started with the invitation. To my ex-fiance’s new wedding.

I should have ignored it.Thrown it away. Set it afire. But I didn’t. I replied.

With a plus one.

And then my assistant accidentally mailed it.

Enter Hayes Whitley. Mega-movie star. The man who has captured the hearts of millions. But I gave him mine years ago. He was my first love. He was my everything. Right until he up and left to chase his dreams without so much as a simple goodbye.

When he showed up out of the blue ten years later, I should have known to steer clear. I should have rejected his offer to take me to my ex’s wedding. I should have never let him kiss me.

But I didn’t.

And now we’re left wondering if the pieces of the life we once shared still fit together somehow. First loves are hard to forget. The question is, do we want to forget? Or do we risk the chance and see what happens next?

 Vivian’s Review: 5+ Stars

An all new Playful, Sweet, and Sexy second-chance love story by the New York Times Bestselling author of the DRIVEN series. Whether you’re a returning K.Bromberg (aka Kristy Bromberg) fan or new to her novels, you’ll LOVE this sweet nostalgic book that transports you back to a happier time, to your youth, to your first love, to your soul mate. If my life were a second-chance romance, THIS is how I’d want it to play out. These two characters have years of shared moments…mostly beautiful, but some heartbreaking. I had “all the feels” while reading SWEET CHEEKS. I was filled with blissfulness that had me smiling like crazy while reading. I was filled with sadness and tearing up after reading some of the poignant moments that transpired in Hayes (LOVE that name BTW!) and Saylor’s lives. I was upset, along with them, in some parts. I was most definitely #swooning over Hayes. And I was definitely filled with happiness and complete joy at the end of this novel. All these feelings were attributed to Kristy’s ability to convey her characters true emotions through each and every page, each and every word. I could feel the characters emotions: from regret to longing, from pain to joy, from anger to desire, from panic to contentment and so on. And because of that, I connected with the story and the characters right away. Their shared past was peppered perfectly within the story through flashbacks (memories). It gave the reader a glimpse of how powerless Hayes and Saylor were to their love for each other. “It’s only ever been him.” –Saylor. “You’ve always been the one, Saylor.” –Hayes. Through those shared moments, they were able to reconnect and create new ones. Find a calm in their chaos.

Summary:

Less than a year after calling off her engagement, Saylor Rodgers receives an invitation to her own wedding…well it appears that way: same invitation, same ceremony, same location, same groom…the only difference, is the bride. “Surely the man I left high and dry the week before our wedding wouldn’t invite me to his wedding—to someone self—a mere six months after I called ours off.” –Saylor. Saylor knows it’s all a joke on her ex’s (Mitch) and most likely his new fiancés part to invite her in the first place. A “look what you missed out on.” “This could’ve been you.” type of invite. And what Saylor hates most of all, is this invitation drags up all the self-doubts she’d been having about calling off their wedding, even though deep down inside, she knows it was the right thing for her. But with her dream business (a bakery- “Sweet Cheeks CupCakery”) financially struggling and the thought that Mitch’s family has their hand in that, has Saylor determined to prove to them that she is perfectly fine without him or his family’s money. Her brother has this silly notion that it might be a smart move for her to go to the wedding with someone more successful, more powerful on her arm to prove to Mitch and his family, that she is indeed making it on her own. Fate just so has it, that when she starts considering going, her past walks back into her life….her first love, now mega movie star, Hayes Whitley. Who better to take her to her ex-fiancés wedding than Hayes? Who better to prove to her ex’s elite family that she can and is making it on her own and that she made the right decision by leaving Mitch. The only issue is, he’s also the boy who walked away from her 10 years ago without a word. The boy who she saw “forever” with. The boy who broke her heart.

Hayes Whitley is living his dream. He has found success in the acting industry and is a big shot Hollywood movie star. At nineteen, he left everything and everyone behind. “It’s amazing how bright lights in this big city have pushed all that away. Faded the memories. Reinforced my decision with success it has brought me.” –Hayes. All it takes is one text from his oldest friend, Ryder (Saylor’s brother) to bring all those memories crashing back. “It’s Saylor. She needs your help.” –Ryder. Over the years, he’s struggled with one regret….leaving Saylor behind. “Sweet smiles, soft lips, my teenage world”. – Hayes. He looks at this as a way to redeem himself. Find closure on how him and Saylor left things. Heal old wounds. But the moment he sees her again, he knows that’s not possible. He is just as affected by her as he was when they were younger. “Trying to forget her is like trying to remember someone I’ve never met. It’s impossible.” –Hayes. And the more time they spend together, the more he realizes she still feels the same way as well. He begins to wonder if he can have both her and Hollywood. Can she live in his world?

When an author, such as Kristy Bromberg (who is known for her DRIVEN series and who has not veered away from that series’ world much), stretches her fingers and creates a new world of characters, I know there can be some trepidation. Fear that she “can’t write outside of that world”…well let me put that fear to rest and inform you that, Kristy can most definitely write outside of the DRIVEN world! I, for one, think her writing speaks for itself. SWEET CHEEKS went above and beyond my expectations.

It’s loaded with desire, want, need, lust, and most importantly love. There’s soul-searing scenes. Toe-curling kind of moments. Soul mates kind of love. Hayes and Saylor’s story was like thunder and lightning. You can see the storm coming from the distance, it’s only a matter of time before it hits the shore. There was 10 years of “missed moments” between Hayes and Saylor and oh my goodness did they make up for those lost years. This novel has me wanting to taking up baking more *wink*. This is a top favorite second-chance romance of 2016 for me and I would highly recommend this book to any and all readers that love romance. You will fall in love with these characters with every page you read.

“It’s pretty rare to be a teenager and know the person you’re dating is your soul mate like I did Hayes.” –Saylor.

I look forward to reading about Saylor’s over-protective and sweet brother, Ryder Rodgers! His novel SWEET RIVARY (1,001 Dark Nights series) is anticipated to release February 28, 2017. Amazon Pre-Order Link

Claudia’s Review:

5 “Hopelessly in love” Stars

five-stars

I loved this book SO much! There was a lot of expectations around it because it’s not a story from her well known DRIVEN series and as a Kristy Bromberg fan, I was really waiting for something new and fresh from her…that’s just what SWEET CHEEKS was. It was sweet and sexy and completely captivating. She nailed it with this amazing lovely book.

I’m a fan of romance. I’m especially a fan of “second-chance” romance and this book is absolutely PERFECT! A very creative plot, lovely characters. It’s full of passion, hope and pure love <3

Saylor “Say” Rodgers is Hayes Whitley’s soulmate. She was his high school sweetheart, but sadly they fell apart when Hayes decided to follow his dreams and left her with no explanation and a broken heart. But as soul mates always find their way back, ten years later, Say and Hayes have a second chance. They are about to attend Say’s ex-fiancé’s wedding together and they will find out that the love they felt when they were younger, is still very much alive and strong, but there will be a lot of obstacles to beat if they want to be together again.

This is a MUST READ, if you’re a fan of any kind of romance. I’m not going to ruin this book for you and give you more details. Just believe me when I tell you that you HAVE to experience it on your own…you have to FEEL it on your own. Because you will most definitely FEEL their love for each other. It surpasses time. They’re true soul mates. You will enjoy every single page. Every single detail. This book will captivate you from the beginning and it will have you rooting for the characters to find their HEA! And the author with her phenomenal writing ability, will take you to a place where your toes will curl, you will feel butterflies in your belly, you will taste this pure love between Saylor and Hayes. Everything about this book is so tangible. And even though I’m sad because it’s over, I think everything was perfect. So be ready for Hayes’ A-Game and be careful with your heart because he will steal it.
