They say when life closes one door, another one opens.
This door happens to lead to paradise.
And a man I can never, ever have.

Still grieving the loss of her sister who died two years ago, the last thing Veronica "Ronnie" Locke needed was to lose her job at one of Chicago’s finest restaurants and have to move back in with her parents. So when a window of opportunity opens for her – running a kitchen at a small Hawaiian hotel – she’d be crazy not to take it.

The only problem is, the man running the hotel drives her crazy:
Logan Shephard.
It doesn’t matter that he’s got dark brown eyes, a tall, muscular build that’s sculpted from daily surfing sessions, and a deep Australian accent that makes your toes curl.
What does matter is that he’s a grump.
Kind of an asshole, too.
And gets under Ronnie’s skin like no one else.

But the more time Ronnie spends on the island of Kauai, falling in love with the lush land and its carefree lifestyle, the closer she gets to Logan. And the closer she gets to Logan, the more she realizes she may have pegged him all wrong. Maybe it’s the hot, steamy jungles or the invigorating ocean air, but soon their relationship becomes utterly intoxicating.

There’s just one major catch.

The two of them together would incite a scandal neither Ronnie, nor her family, would ever recover from.

Forbidden, Illicit, off-limits – sometimes the heat is worth surrendering to, even if you get burned.

“Tell me what you’re afraid of,” he says, adjusting himself against the pillow. “Tell me all your fears and I’ll carry them for you”

2016 has been an incredible year for Karina Halle, full amazing release days and #1 ratings on Amazon. I’ve been so busy this year that i have missed some of those awesome releases but right now i couldn’t be more happy that i got to read Heat Wave.

Outside from being a book with so much paradise and beauty, Heat Wave is a book about second chances, true love and family. A book not only able to capture your heart but enamour your soul. Heat Wave is heart moving, sexy and real. Be prepared to be swept off your feet!

I know that no matter the warnings, some readers can shy away from the book after reading the blurb so i wanted to note that this book has NOTHING to shy away from. NO cheating, NO love triangles. If you don’t mind an age difference between the hero and the heroine then you are set. For me it wasn’t even a taboo topic because after you are get to know the characters and their story, you know that this two were simply meant to be.

Veronica and Logan met each other on a time when they were both ambitious and seeking more out of life and more focused on their future than anything else. Even tho both recognised their instant attraction the “when you meet someone you just know’’ kind of feeling, things didn’t worked out easy for them. I like to believe that their love needed time, they needed time to grow as people, to acknowledge the right and wrongs, to really be ready to love each other.

Veronica, after years of living behind the shadow of her sister gets a second chance to really choose herself and not her sister shadow. You know, family bond is weird because this sisters only got a connection one time and instead of fighting despite of their dysfunctional family they both chose not to. And then Logan gets in the picture, the one who truly knows who this sisters are. They one that really knows who Veronica is and what she needed was someone to tell her, to ask her to stop living on her sister’s shadow.

I LOVED LOGAN, he was just everything, from sexy to irresistibly grumpy and loving. SO LOVING. The kind of grumpy you can’t wait to see on his feet swearing love lol yes that kind. And he was also so kind hearted. My favorite thing about him was how well he knew Veronica, you’ll think he doesn’t but he does. He is the only one that sees who she really is. *SO DREAMY*

Heat Wave is set on a beautiful island of Hawaii so what else can you ask for? Heat Wave is one the best romance this year, so don’t miss it!
