The stunning conclusion to the New York Times Bestseller.

These are the unbreakable rules in the game.
Stay collected. Compartmentalize. Think your next move through. Never let your heart dictate your tactics.

The heart is impulsive.
The heart makes bad decisions.
The heart doesn’t see the long game.

Because the heart may have decided to get Adam back, but when the endgame comes, the heart’s going to be the first thing to break.

Book Review: 5 breaking stars

five-stars

Diana thought she had it all figured out but she was in for a surprise, they both were. Adam was trying so hard to make her fall in love with him that in the process he seemed to fall out of love with her just in time when her love started to come back.

This is a game.
A game without winners.
A game where surrender is unthinkable.
A game to lose it all or win it all…there is nothing in between!
Question is who will come out of it alive and who will break first!

I am sitting here writing this review and feeling a bit sad….ok fine more than just a bit. This was quit some read and once I reached the end I kept craving more of it. Adam and Diana….WOW! What to say about these two characters that are as unique as they go and they sure made a strong impression on me. It was such a delightful piece of literature that still challenged me like the first book Marriage Games and still left me satisfied with a smile on my face. It was a true pull and push game from the start to the very end and I loved every piece of it.

“She was mine. She’d always be mine. Even as confused as I was about what love meant between us, she’d never stopped being mine. Not for a second.”

This installment is mostly told from Diana’s POV and she really scored some points with me here and all displease I might have had with her in Marriage Games was all gone now. I felt with her on so many levels, her desire to get back what was once hers and now out of her reach. I felt her pain, but I also felt how strong she was and how determined she was to put it all on the line in order to finish the game she started.

“I’d lost the love of my life. I had to accept that.
Acceptance was freedom. I went with it for two days.”

Towards the end of the book we get to see things from Adam’s POV and see what was hiding in his heart and thoughts and once again he held his position of perfection. A man who is out to right his wrongs once and for all no matter the costs. I simply adore EVERYTHING about him. I would give him 30…60…90 hell every day if he asked *wink*

“We kissed. She tasted like rosewater. She tasted like freedom and captivity.
She tasted like the rest of my life.”

I couldn’t wait to read this because it really left me wondering after book one and I was doubting myself and were I went wrong. And I can’t explain with enough words how great this was and how happy the development through the whole book made me and those few last chapters in particular * LOVE*

“I am going to spend the rest of my life with you, I said.
That’s non-negotiable.
Her smile was magical, unintentional a reflection of her body and heart.”

C.D. Reiss is one of the most talented and brilliant authors that readers across the world can agree with and for me personally it was a challenge of some sort and I can only say. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED 🙂 I can’t put my finger on it but she has something special…something with her words….the way she writes is not really explainable. You have to experience her stories on your own to be able to make any kind of perception of it.

“We have a lifetime of pushing boundaries together.
She sighed. You’re right, sir. We do.”

This blew all those doubts away and I feel so honored to have gotten the chance to read this series and I can NOT wait for a day when the chance to get these beauties signed will appear.

I can highly recommend this series Marriage Games + Separation Games with all my heart. And audiobook of book one was pure perfection narrated by Sebastian York and Elena Wolfe.
