Book Review: 5 +++ Stars
Since the first book in the White House duet, MR. PRESIDENT, Matt & Charlotte have stolen our hearts in so many ways and had us voting for more than Matt as President. They had us voting for them as a couple #IVotedforCharlotteandMatt. Then they broke our hearts at the end of the book, when they had to make life (and love) decisions for the greater good of the world. But book#2, COMMANDER IN CHIEF “CIC”, proves that as soulmates, they were meant for each other regardless of those every day obstacles. Ever since they were kids, they knew they wanted to make a difference, to leave a mark and what a better way to do it as a couple…a couple a President And First Lady. Their love for each other is as big as their love for their country. And in COMMANDER IN CHIEF, Katy Evans gave us a very unique, outstanding and even magical story. Her writing stirs our emotions, make us live through these amazing characters with every single line and word. This book is more than a political romance, it is full of pages and pages of love, commitment, support, fight, learning, growing, and family that I ABSOLUTELY adored.
CIC starts with Matt being the current President of US. He’s such a powerful, inspiring, caring, passionate, hardworking, dedicated and beautiful man that has all of us under a spell that we don’t want to leave. All the Americans are in love with their new President, but he still has an emptiness to fill. He is so committed to achieving ground breaking things for his country but he now knows he cannot do it without his better half, Charlotte Wells, by his side. He simply can not get her out of his mind these past two months and he’s not willing to spend more time away from her.
Charlotte thought that leaving right before Matt was elected was the best for both of them. “Remove the temptation” in a way. But she can’t live with him any longer. So when Matt proposed that she come to be his First Lady, after some convincing (on Matt’s part) she accepted. Of course, this decision didn’t come without fears. She was scared of the importance of being FLOTUS (acronym for First First of the United States), but she wants the chance to do something for her country AND to be with Matt as well. But this path won’t be easy for them. Matt doesn’t want to break Charlotte’s heart, to push her needs and wants aside due to all the responsibilities as President, just as his dad had done to him and his mother. But he’s determined to prove that he can do both. Be a exemplary President and a quintessential man to his woman.
Katy Evans not only gave us the chance of reading this amazing book, but she also gave us the chance to believe in love, believe in commitment, believe in family, believe in dreams and why not believe in politics too. I was so proud of this two characters and their development from book 1 to book 2 that I found myself wishing for a world that could be lead by a couple just like this. A couple with that much passion and dedication to making a difference as well as demonstrating that much devotion to each other as a couple. We need more role models like them. I hope I gave u enough reasons to give Matt and Charlotte your time to read and love because I know you will.

He looks devilishly handsome.
His hair is combed back and oh, how I love every chiseled inch of his face. He’s the first to move, prying his hands from his pockets, eyes flaring, inhaling visibly—his inhale stretching the fabric of that black tux.
Disbelief and a punch of longing to have all of this man, his love and his name and his babies, hits me as he approaches. I’m gazing at him walk to me down the hall of the White House residence, both of us ready to attend a social dinner. My first public event with him.
I need a moment, or a thousand moments, to adjust to this new role.
Matt continues advancing—with every step his eyes drinking me in, his lips curling in a seductive, appreciative smile.
“You ready?” He stretches out his hand.
I nod and look at that hand—the hand I’ve held so many times, and that held me. I slide my fingers down the length of his, and he grips them and leads me down the staircase with him.
