Ten Steps to Surviving a New Job:

1. Don’t sleep with the client. It’ll get you fired. (Sounds easy enough.)

2. Don’t blink when new client turns out to be former one-night stand.

3. Don’t call same client a jerk for never texting you back.

4. Don’t believe client when he says he really, really wanted to call.

5. Remember, the client is always right—so you can’t junk punch him when he demands new design after new design.

6. Ignore accelerated heartbeat every time sexy client walks into room.

7. Definitely ignore client’s large hands. They just mean he wears big gloves.

8. Don’t let client’s charm wear you down. Be strong.

9. Whatever you do, don’t fall for the client. You’ll lose more than your job—maybe even your heart.

10. If all else fails, see rule number one again.

“Please, Ryder.” Her hips bucked into me, grinding against my erection.

“Patience, Flash.” I smiled down at her. “I want to take my time with you.” I wanted to take her to the brink until she pleaded my name. I wanted every inch of her to be seared into my brain. I’d stripped her down to her underwear, and that alone was enough for me to come undone.

My tongue trailed down her neck, and I inhaled the sweet scent of lavender as I made my way toward her breast, taking a nipple in my mouth. I ran my tongue in a circle and she arched into me, letting out a tiny gasp. The noise went straight to my cock, and I throbbed for her. I’d physically ached for her for months. I pressed my lips into the flat of her palm. “You are mine.”

She nodded. “I’m yours.”

Her words obliterated my world. The trust in her eyes, the way she looked at me like I was worth a damn—I’d hit the jackpot. She writhed under my touch, pressed her body against mine, and the urge to connect with her, to be in her, almost broke my resolve.

Sex came second nature to me. But every move now was dedicated to earning Zoey’s maximum pleasure. I listened to her breathing, watched every sudden dip in her stomach. Her expressive body was the roadmap I’d travel until she begged me to be inside her.

I kissed along the freckles dotting her chest, to the muscles in her arm, to her delicate pink fingertips. No surface on Zoey’s body would go unexplored before we left this bed.

“Your mouth is so infuriating,” she whined, shifting restlessly beneath me.

I chuckled. “Usually you only say that when I’m talking.”

“Extenuating circumstances.” She raked a hand through my hair, and I leaned into her touch. “I might die before we get to the good part.”

“Such a whiner. I still have the left half of your body to explore.”

My mouth was on her neck, kissing down the flat of her stomach, to the curve of her hip.

“I’m not above retaliation when the time comes,” she ground out, her words strained.

Book Review: 4.5 Flash stars!!!

four-half-stars

I knew that this book would be really goooooooood since I first read the blurb, but the end result took me by complete surprise. It’s unbelievable how much fun and how totally enjoyed reading it.

The Rule Maker is the second installment in The Rule Breakers series and it follows Lainey’s (The Rule Book – book 1) BBF, Zoey Reynolds, story. This time the story doesn’t begin on the Now, but four months ago when Zoey spent and extremely intimate, intense and memorable night with Ryder Convigton. Where was the problem in that? None. Until now. The moment Ryder barges into her office and her life as her new client, bringing not-so-pleasant AND toe-curling memories with him. And how both deal with BOTH of them, it’s something that I will always love and smile about.

He’d ruined me, in the worst way, for all other men.

This book has many awesome qualifications that makes me love it more and more every time either I read it or think about it. But the three which have claimed the top places in that list are 1) the I N C R E D I B L E amount of humor every single line and scene has, 2) the rules which are cherishable on their own, let alone a part of the story, and 3) Ryder & Zoey OF COURSE!!! The humor and the rules made a killer combination which had me every time to laugh my ass off. I may even got a new liver! :p And now if you add Zoey and Ryder into that mix along with their amazing personalities and witty minds, then I can declare easily myself “Dead by The Flashes”.

As for the romance touch of the story, I have to admit that I swooning every 5″. Especially when Ryder was outerring those perfect lines full of emotion and complete love to Zoey, I was a lost cause.

“You know you have the most gorgeous eyes?” – Zoey

“The better to stare into yours.” – Ryder

And please not get me started on the “thing” he did for her in the end because I would probably end up to burst into jealous but giddy-for-these-two tears. And may Zoey was trying to resist him for almost the good half of the book, in the end she surrendered to his expert hands. Also, what really got me captivated and made me love him even more was the sensitive and magnificent layers he was hiding under the mask he was wearing so to come up as a player with no care. And, I bet, Blackwood couldn’t find a better setting to make him unleash his hidden self with all its sensitivities, feelings, passion and goofball-y ways. But the same goes for Zoey too, since the setting turned out to be the perfect for her to see Ryder with a different eye and find and unleash the love for him she had under lock in her heart.

It took one hell of a woman to turn me into the worst of the Seven Dwarves.

Jennifer Blackwood, as it seems, needed only this one book to become one of the authors that I look for in the future, Her writing was simply the something else and her pen did magic on those pages. I really can’t wait to read the next work in this amazing series that I can’t recommend enough, but also the first book since I can’t go on without knowing the super Lainey’s sweet story.
