Interview with Lance Romero

Hello Lance, it’s so good to have you here in Collector of Book Boyfriends. Welcome!

We’ve followed your career very closely *fangirling*, what has been your greatest success so far? What has been more challenging?

Winning the Cup two years ago was definitely a defining moment in my career. I’d like to be able to do that more than once in my career, but you just never know when you’ll be traded, or how long your career is going to last, so at least I have that. As far as challenges, I’m a bit of a hothead on the ice, so keeping myself in check hasn’t been easy. I’m working on not having the highest penalty minutes in the league this year.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Honestly, probably retired with knee problems. I haven’t really thought that far ahead. I might want to coach later on. A lot has changed in the past year, so it’s hard to say, but if I’m not in hockey anymore I’d like to do something with numbers.

You’ve made great friends within your teammates and their significant others. Especially, we love your friendship with Violet. What made you feel drawn to Vi and bound with her on a personal level?

Violet’s fucking crazy, but she’s good people, ya know? When Alex took that hit last year it was tough on Vi, but she’s a solid person. She stuck by him when he wasn’t in a good place, and not everyone will do that. People bail a lot when it gets hard. Uncertainty is scary.

Besides that, she’s easy to talk to, and we’re both nerdy as fuck with the Mathletes business from high school. She doesn’t have a filter either, so I can ask her questions and she’ll answer honestly.

You have quite a reputation in the bunny-sphere. In fact, we’d turn ourselves into bunnies to have a chance to “spend some time” with you *wink-wink*. How do you stay in such great shape and still maintain your stamina on the ice and under the sheets? *wink-wink*

Uh, yeah, some of that is reputation is well-earned, but some of it is bullshit. Being a professional hockey player means I spend a lot of time training. We’re on the ice for several hours a day and then in the gym when we’re not on the ice. Being in shape is kind of my job, aye? And so is having stamina. It’s great that it has added benefits off the ice.

We’ve talked about Lance the hockey-player, the friend and the bunny-player… We’d like to know a little more about your romantic side. You are Lance ROMANCE Romero after all *smiles*

Uh . . . pretty sure I’m not romantic at all. The “Romance” bit is sort of tongue in cheek, aye? Like I don’t do the girlfriend thing and the only time I tried that it got all fucked up, maybe because I suck at the romance stuff? It’s safer when emotions aren’t involved. For me anyway.
