***A Standalone novel in The Pucked Series***
I’m NHL defenseman Lance Romero, AKA Lance “Romance."
I’m notorious for parties and excess. I have the most penalty minutes in the league. I get into the most fights. I take the most hits. I’m a player on and off the ice. I’m the one women with no inhibitions want.
Not because I like the notoriety, but because I don’t know how to be any other way.
I have secrets. Ones I shared with the wrong person, and she used them against me. Sometimes she still does. I should cut ties. But she makes it difficult, because she’s the kind of bad I deserve.
At least that’s what I believed until someone from my past gets caught up in my present. She’s all the good things in this world. She lights up my dark.
I shouldn’t want her.
But I do.
I should leave her alone.
But I won’t.

Book Review: 5 stars
Just when I think I’ve got Helena Hunting’s number, she surprises me. To say that I’ve love everything she’s written would be a gross understatement. Hunting is a one-click author for me and I long for her books. LONG for them. And when I have the honor of reading one, I savour it. Savour. The Pucked Series is no exception. In fact, it’s one of my favorite series in existence. LOl. I l know, I’m smitten and I don’t care who knows it.
Thanks to Helena’s Fanbase Facebook Group, The Beaver Den, I knew that Lance was getting his own book FOREVER ago. I say forever, because when you’re waiting five months plus for a book to release, that is forever. And honestly, I wasn’t sure how I felt about Lance at the time. The little snippets of him from the other books gave me an idea of his character. But just as with all of the Pucked MCs I knew that there was more than what he seemed. I knew that Helena would take us deeper…to the real Lance. And, per usual, she didn’t disappoint.
Pucked Off wasn’t a typical Pucked book. Yeah, there’s still hot sex, an amazing female MC and a total dreamboat who gave me all the feels. But this book was something more. It touched me on an emotional level because there was a lot more too it. So, I mentioned how I’d seen snippets of Lance before in the other books. But he was still a bit of a mystery. Example, in the other books we learned that Lance was in a volatile relationship with somebody that wasn’t good for him. But he kept going back for more. And that intrigued me. Most men wouldn’t so then I was thinking what’s up with Lance?
OH. MY. GOD. There is so much up with Lance. And I have to say, he almost took Randy’s place in my heart. Almost. But seriously, Helena is such a master at creating endearing characters that It’s hard not to love them all equally. And let’s chat about the sex for a sec…
“So an important thing you might want to know is that hockey players have pretty high stamina.”
“I see that.” I wrap my fingers around him and squeeze.
Lance’s mouth drops open and his eyes roll up. “You gotta tell me when you’re tired, or you might need a break, ‘cause I can do this all night with you.”
“All night?’
Oh the sex is scorching but in a different way than Hunting’s other Pucked books. It’ sex heavy with the emotions that are many times void in such scenes/scenarios. It’s the perfect combo of frisky and feels. And I love the fact that Lance has met his match in his match. And the fact that they have a past is just o perfect for me.
I can’t go into too much detail about the plot without giving away some information that I feel is vital so I’ll just wrap up with this: Helena Hunting could not have written a better book. Honestly. And I’ll add that is you’re looking for the amount of sexy time that the other couples have had together, then you’re not going to get it. It’s not that kind of story. In fact, this book speaks to the heart…as well as the loins.
