Oh. Em. Gee! I forgot how much I missed Joanna’s writing and, of course, her MC stories! Even though this is a short format, a novella, Joanna put all the ingredients into it: a tough heroine, a big bossy and sexy as h*ll biker, amazing banter, some drama and angst and hot steamy moments. It was perfection from the beginning til the end.
SHADE’S LADY (Reapers MC #6.5) is the story of Mandy and the President of the Reaper’s, Shade. Mandy hasn’t had luck in her life, starting with her bad choices in men. It’s kinda genetic, her mom and her sister have bad luck as well. Thanks to her ex-husband, Mandy is now on unsupervised probation, she was accused of being an accomplice to a robbery, which she was innocent of, but ended with a sentence. Now she moved to Violetta to help her sister with her kids and as a way of helping her sister out, she babysits them during the day and works at “The Pit” (a biker bar). She’s dating a biker called Rebel, she was strictly dating him just for fun, he was an a**hole, so she wasn’t looking for a future with him.
Rebel doesn’t care about her, he traded her for getting a bike. He offered her to Shade, one night with Shade instead of paying him for the bike.
So she ended up with Shade at his room at the Reapers’ club, she has no idea about the transaction, but she makes Shade know that she won’t be sleeping with him, that she has no intentions of having anything to do with him. But Mandy has an inner battle when it comes to Shade, she’s very attracted to him, but with her “track record” with men, she knows she should steer clear of him. Mandy knows, her and a man like him, are a bad combination. And Shade IS bad news, incredibly sexy and tempting bad news.
Shade never gets rejected, he always gets what he wants and he wants Mandy, even though she is sassy and bossy, that makes her even more appealing. He won’t stop until he is making her beg and she is HIS.
But it becomes apparent to both of them, that one incredibly mind-blowing night is not enough.
Mandy and her sister are having trouble and what happens when a Reaper’s lady is in distress? The whole club comes to her rescue, that’s the way it is, no one can harm what is theirs. Will Shade acting like a hero be enough for Mandy to decide to try for more? Will Shade want a forever with her?
This is a lovely story that will hook you from page one and keep you flipping the page with every sentence. If you’re a fan of Joanna, you’ll absolutely love this one, and if you’re new to her novels, give this one a try! You’ll be an instant MC lover and crave more.
