If you thought Laurelin Paige writes kick-ass characters – especially males -, then wait until you meat Donovan Kincaid. We’re talking about the epitome of alpha and panties-dropping maleness that you can’t help get hooked.
After the prequel, Dirty Filthy Rich Boys, told us the beginning now the bar goes to Dirty Filthy Rich Men to continue the story. 10 years after the end of the Boys, this triad meet again. And the outcome is body-shivering unexpected. At first is Donovan & Weston against Sabrina. But Life has other plans for Weston so she gets him out of the game. And now, Sabrina and Donovan. The two lovers that lighted up the first book on fire and now are about to burn everything to the ground. Because what flows, exists and breathes between them only as schorching hot can be described.

It’s well known that Donovan Kincaid isn’t of the warmest men in the world. I could go even that farthest bit and say he’s kind of an a**hole. That’s a fact. Although, he’s human and as a human he has his weaknesses. And his biggest one is called Sabrina and every time he is in her presence, a brick of his wall around his heart is crashing down, letting light and love to get in. But don’t let him fool you. He is one of the hardest nuts to crack but, unconsciously, he has already done the 1/3 of the work. And he really doesn’t need ANY ANY extragavantly romantic gesture to make me swoon. The little things he was doing out of instinct – even if he doesn’t acknowledge it – to keep Bri his were pretty pretty enough.
As for Sabrina, I have to say, she got my feelings a bit confused when it comes to what I think of her. At the prequel, she was just being a college girl with some specific layers to show. Which only made her even more intriguing to find out what kind of woman she became during these 10 years. And that’s where the situation gets mixed up. At first, it kind of made sense her reaction at her first encounter with the one of them. But from the moment she started getting deeper with Donovan, her personality did a turn for the worse. She was constantly unable to stick to one decision and in a blink of an eye, she would change her mind so fast she was giving me whiplash. I could easily imagine her as a leaf on the wind; she went wherever the wind called Donovan would take her. Her inner strength was locked away and every time I was wondering and hoping for the strong woman she could be to finally hsow up. The only thing I wish more than anything (even more than getting to read more of Donovan’s POVs) is for her to find that strength and fight like any woman should do for what she wanted without surrendering to anything.
Regarding that, their love story is one of the BEST, most beautifully complicated and unforgettable ones I have ever had the chance to read and devpur. But then again, every love story Laurelin Paige writes ends up with the same adgectives, maybe even more. This woman simply knows damn well how to put you at the end of your seat and having your heartbeat skyrocket through the roof with every page. And let’s not talk about what the waiting of her books does! Some of the most dragging periods of my book life has been while waiting for one of her next book to come out. And when that was a sequel? Pure spanish torture. And her cliffhangers are of the most cruel, sweet, epic and agonizing ones I have ever encountered! I just love to hate them!! But what is Beauty without Pain, huh?
I think the reccomendation of this series is beyond moot since it’s a Laurelin Paige one. It’s a guarantee every time! The long waiting until Dirty Filthy Rich Love will be surely a sweet torture for sure. I can’t wait to see the conclution of these majestic, mindblowing lovers.
